Just got back after a 2 night stay at Kiln Hill Barn, lovely place and the setting is stunning. The room, although described to me as small for 2 people and 2 large dogs, was absolutely fine and not at all lacking in space. Breakfast was really good and in a lovely dining space. Katrina is a great host and we are looking at returning again soon for a go in the self catering. Highly recommend the place

I spent two weeks here in a lovely cottage. Very easy to get around the lake District as this place isn't far from Keswick and mountain walks. Highly recommended.

A fantastic setting overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. They have self catering holiday cottages, b & b and also a registered Caravan Club site. The cottages are spotless with everything you need. The owner lives in rhe Mill. They have sold the business this year and I believe the new owner will not be living there. Hopefully the current standards will be maintained.

Lovely views from our caravan, with plenty of public paths and bridleways for walking and cycling. They were very helpful and made us feel welcome.

Fantastic rental accommodation. It was warm, had all the facilities for our family and close to cockermouth and Keswick. Loved it. Nice to see the chickens and sheep onsite

Absolutely lovely location, but not very level, making it a difficult pitch for bigger caravans.

Has been upgraded since my last stay years ago. Seems to have pitches for only 3 outfits. Holiday lodges shaped like portacabins mar the view down to Bassenthwaite. OS map shows a path to this lake but it has been blocked off with new fencing and gates removed. There has been construction work on a pipeline, now finished which may have contributed to this. Site itself is immaculate but quite expensive for one caravanner.

Beautiful location, although the chalets are a bit of an eyesore. Unfortunately, KilnHill cottage was not clean. Cobwebs in pretty much every corner. And the little nook in the front room was festooned with them. The worst of them was behind the headboard. It was full of spider webs, and it's extremely disconcerting to try to sleep with a spiders hunting ground 6 inches from your face. Sorry but until the place is thoroughly cleaned I can't recommend it.
