Comfortable lodgings in the heart of the old city. Full English breakfast included. Friendly staff, good service.

Sorry but would not stop here again. Yes the room was excellent and admittedly very close to high street and the Cathedral but it had no atmosphere at all just like coming back to a cell. No reception, the only staff you ever saw was the lady at breakfast. The so called continental breakfast was meagre to say the least. No ham or selection of cheeses, a few slices of bread or chocolate pastries. Fruit or fruit juices I would expect any way. The sister hotel was a lot further away than 'a few minutes walk away'did not relish walking there for a cooked breakfast each morning. When I went to pick the key up, I said to the guy on the desk that I felt it was a much longer walk than a few minutes I was informed that it depends how far you walk in thought this was very rude. The lodge in my opinion is just an annexe. Not ideal for single travellers

Lovely staff, decent standard of room and great location.
Despite being nice the room was absolutely freezing and the shower a bit dodgy. The breakfast is rubbish, low level hostel style, cereal or rubbery cheese on toast

We were a bit confused at first on why the reception would be in a different place than the lodge itself. However, it is literally a four minutes walk, so it's really alright.

The lodge was lovely. It had what we needed; free WiFi, soap, a lot of towels! A bed, blow dryer, etc.

The breakfast was so lovely! Besides the usual hostel breakfast of toast, marmalade, cereal, tea, coffee... They also offered big breakfasts. We had eggs Benedict and they were great!

Also, after we checked out, they allowed us to leave our bags while we wandered before leaving.

Would totally stay there again.

Guest house was adequate and clean.
The staff at the Prilgrims Hotel where we collected our key (singular) wasn't completely sure where the guest house was so we were looking for it for about 30 minutes. The first day we were there the cleaner came and did I good job cleaning but left the door unlocked. No answer on the reception calls as we wanted a remote control for out tv. Solved the problem by phoning the Priory Hotel direct but still didn't answer so left a message on an answer phone.

Great location, very close to the city centre. Could do with a few bits of upgrading
I had a single room, the window wouldn't stay open (I stuck a cushion underneath), the TV couldn't get most channels, and the (very small) shower had nowhere to store your washing bits. But was a good price and you get what you pay for.

Booked through booking.com. Totally incorrect info describing accommodation. States parking is available at pilgrims it isn't. Also states if you need to cancel due to covid as long as you let them know but this is not true. I emailed and contacted through booking.com as soon as my daughter tested positive for covid 19 but all communication was ignored and instead on receiving my email, they charged my card the full amount two days prior to our stay.
