What a Change!!!

I have never stayed at the hotel, however over the years I have eaten there many times. My first visit was pub grub, quite good quality for the price. A later visit, and I wondered what the hell had happened. The food was atrocious.

BUT, my last two visits to the Milton, and the food is astounding. I have never had a steak so tender and cooked to perfection in a very very long time. The current owners and chef need more that 5/5. They need 10/5 for turning the place around so much. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always happy to see everyone, and will strike up a conversation over a pint.

Well worth a visit and definitely a meal.

Great job everyone at the Milton

This place has certainly changed since my last visit many years ago.
I went to the New Years fancy dress party and it was fantastic to see how clean and tidy things are. The staff are friendly and the food was superb. The French trained chef speaks several languages and his food speaks for itself.
Thank you Milton, a well deserved 5 stars from me.

Clean, tidy room which although small was comfortable.
Dinner was excellent, large portions and piping hot. Good selection on the menu.
The owner Anthony was extremely friendly and helpful even managing to print an urgent document for me. The staff were also polite and helpful.
I would definitely recommend a visit.

A lovely local pub hotel, with a warm welcome and friendly staff. The hotel does meals and a very filling breakfast is included. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great value for money. We happily stay again when visiting Cardiff or Newport.

Warm comfortable rooms, real homely feel about the place. Staff are amazing they can't do enough for you and always have a smile on there face. Amazingly placed, close enough to everything without the noise of a busy town. The food is amazing and well priced. Definitely coming back

Great little pub for Six Nations Rugby. The room was comfortable and relatively clean, some dust on window cill and one or two other little bits if you were being picky. However this was more than made up by the welcome and friendly, helpful staff. On arrival they booked us a taxi into Newport and promised priority on a table for food when we got back from the rugby. A great bar with plenty of choice and a good menu. The food was excellent, see pics, tastes as good as it looks and the puds were fabulous. It was my dad's birthday weekend and he loves his puds, high praise from him. He only complained at breakfast the next morning because it was so large, haha! It really was a good bug breakfast. Dad left a sausage and I was unable to finish it off for him. Will definitely book there again when we're next down.

FAB makes the place, simple but clean accommodation. But the service by Fab and his team second to none. Amazing breakfast and his pizzas honestly one of the best I've ever had.
