We had a lovely stay at Slater's Arm. Owners were very nice and attentive. They even gave us recommendation about activities around. We had a warm welcome to Corris village.
The room was super clean and very comfortable. Food was really nice and generous. Pub had a great atmosphere and a good choice of drinks.
No doubt you will enjoy if you have a chance to stay there.

What a special place this is, in such a tranquil village. Lovely owners, Charlotte and Mike and Bella the dog... such welcoming people, including the locals. Cosy atmosphere with a log burner and lots of pump clips decorating the walls. Great real ale choices and the food is homemade and just delicious.. what a gem this pub is, the heart of this gorgeous community. I feel lucky to have visited here and hope I get to visit again one day.

The Slaters arms is situated in Corris and stones throw from the Dyfi bike park, which led us to choose it as a place to stay.

Our stay at the slaters arms was just excellent. The hosts Charlotte and Mike made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough to make sure us and our bikes were well taken care of, despite our muddy appearances after a days riding. It was really was above and beyond.

The room was a good size, clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was a choice of cereals and bread followed by a full English, but Mike was happy to cook what we wanted.  We were never left hungry, quite the opposite.

The food was so good that we ate all our evening meals in the pub, proper home cooked food and good portion sizes. This also meant we could sample the different real ales and ciders on offer. Corris and the surrounding area is just beautiful and we wished we had more time to explore and sample more of that home cooked food. We will definitely be back and can't wait.

As we were staying locally, this was the only pub in walking distance - and after checking online for food serving times first, we arrived on a Sunday at 5:30 (an hour before food stops) and we’re told by the bar person that the kitchen had already stopped serving. Surprised, I mentioned we had checked the times before coming and was told that as the owners were away, times for food were down to them so the online info is wrong!
Unnecessarily rude with not even the vaguest apology for the situation and the staff and locals gave a very obvious unfriendly vibe, which was felt by our whole family.
We would have eaten here several times through the week but no way would we bother returning to spend our money here.
Very disappointing and frustrating.
Not recommended.

My family and I were looking forward to visiting the local pub whilst on holiday. We arrived just after 1630, there was a group of 3 at the bar so we decided to take a seat whilst they were being served by the barmaid. Before we had all sat down we were asked to move to a different table by a gentleman as he walked through to the kitchen. He abruptly asked us if we had checked with the barmaid that we could sit at a table. He then proceeded to ask if it was just drinks or food we wanted as he had a big family coming in and didn't know whether we could have food, then he walked off. We waited for him to return. He didn't. Instead he decided to have a quiet conversation with the barmaid in front of us and they both then stood staring in our direction. On deciding to leave another customer commented that our visit was a quick one and that is when we voiced how disappointed we had been with the service. Such a shame as it is the only pub within walking distance of our accommodation and we were planning on visiting several times throughout the duration of our holiday.

We called ahead to book a table for 8 of us and two dogs. We booked in for 6pm on a Thursday evening. On arrival the outside looks pretty, in a lovely little street that must be magical in the winter with lights and fires going!
We arrived about 45 minutes early as the rain meant our previous plans were cut short. On arrival the pub wasn't overly busy, but I got the impression our early arrival had caused problems although there were only about 4 guests drinking.
We couldn't be seated on one table which had been explained on the phone so we were split as a 6 and a 2 which made the dynamics odd.
The bench seating is ok but doesn't encourage a slow pace and we very quickly were feeling we were ready to leave. The food was OK. The cheaper end of pub food.

The Steak and Ale pie was tasty. The burger likewise. Curry was hot and tasty and came with rice and a popudom.
The only thing we can't recommend were the pizzas and garlic breads. The bases were unpleasant and appeared to be the pre-made mass produced kind.

However, price-wise, all great value! Average dish was about £10.

Again, I can't put my finger on the issue, but the staff seemed upset with us. She was very friendly with other guests but just very cold with us. Perhaps it was just a difficult night on her own.

Edit after owner reply: Thanks for your reply, I am a little taken back by your straight to racism defence, I hope when you read this again you will see that is unwarranted.

These are reviews not complaints and I think I've been pretty fair and balanced here. Pointing out the good bits and the parts that I felt, on the night, for our service, could be improved. As for the couple on the table next to us, yes we did see them and did remark how sweet they were and quite clearly regulars, as your wife brought their drinks to their table for them it was a kind moment.

Thank you for seating us early but there wasn't any 'Demand' we just said we were here and we knew we were early. Thank you for your hospitality. We have had a lovely week in Wales and look forward to returning.
