Loved the two days I spent at the old vicarage with my wife and MIL! Gareth and Kirsty were extremely gracious and welcoming and helped us decide what to do and where to go on our trip to Wales. They have modernized this charming house but maintained a touch of history that made me want to stay for a few days more.. The price is reasonable and the rooms are comfortable, large and cosy at the same time! And the breakfast was just mind-boggling, all our calorie counting went to sh*t during our visit. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a charming place nestled in the mountains and the woods! Going to go back again 1000%

This is a superb B&B in a stunning part of the exquisite Dyfi Valley ("Dovey" to those from the English side). Kirstie and Gareth are perfect hosts, and the quality of rooms, catering, service, and facilities is top notch.
Maybe not a place to try to lose weight? Cakes, breakfast ice cream, chocolate porridge, full fried breakfasts from local producers ...
Lots of local walks, including some serious hill challenges, tons of local activities, and a great base for the Mach Loop (either on foot, bike, car, or just with a camera).
Recommended without hesitation

Best option for seeing The Mach Loop. They’re only 5 minutes away from CAD East West parking area and 10 mins from Bwlch. We have stayed in other places but got the details of the Old vicarage as a recommendation from a friend. We stayed for 4 nights mid week. Stunning & brilliant value for money. We even got to see two Osprey FROM OUR BEDROOM WINDOW!! (We stayed in the Smith room)
We loved the packed lunches every day which were huge and delicious! The B&B itself is immaculate and complete luxury. Highly highly recommend The Old Vicarage if you’re looking to see the Mach Loop. We won’t stay anywhere else now.

We had such a great stay at the old vicarage it could not have been any better. Gareth and Kirsty were so helpful and made one of the best breakfasts I’ve had anywhere. We had a great time Mountain biking and walking in the area with Gareth giving great advice to some local trails which were fantastic. We’ll be back!

We selected The Old Vicarage for my birthday celebration, because of the fantastic guest reviews and excellent presentation on their website, and we were not disappointed!

Kirsty and Gareth are the very warmest of hosts and nothing is too much trouble, in their pursuit of guest satisfaction.

The house is beautiful and our lovely room was very quiet and well appointed, with a large comfortable bed and a huge bathroom, with both bath and walk in shower.

The many extra touches really do make this feel like a hotel stay, with a pillow menu, an incredible abundance of resources and advice for local activities, (including services and activities provided directly by the B an B), and daily "specials" at Breakfast, in addition to the main menu options, all based on gorgeously tasty and perfectly prepared, local produce.

We would not hesitate to highly recommend this place for its location, accommodation and really top notch hosting, characterised by a clear emphasis on high quality, in all things.

Above all the authentic warmth of reception, the friendliness and the willingness of this young couple to do whatever was needed to enhance our stay will ensure that we will be back!

The Old Vicarage is truly deserving of every success and the highest of accolades.

I stayed here with my 2 children as a last minute mini break to visit the Mach Loop and it was fantastic!

Kirsty and Gareth are so lovely and helpful and their home is just gorgeous. The rooms have been decorated beautifully as has the rest of the house with some great artwork, the breakfasts are extremely tasty and the scenery is stunning. My children both want to go back!

The house is located just a short drive from beautiful sandy beaches and the Snowdonia National Park.

We had a fab stay, would 100% recommend and hope to go back for a longer stay.

Lingering memories of sun blessed days spent with our extended family at this wonderful place. We will return for more indulgent breakfasts, more woodland walks and more Black Lion hospitality!

A quality, tranquil location run by Gareth and Kirsty. Their attention to detail is unrivalled. A super friendly place to relax and unwind.

Breakfast is excellent. I loved the full Welsh breakfast on day one. Day two, it was eggs benedict - absolutely yummy!
