The Fettling Room

Chris has recently opened his tiny little HQ in Cranleigh. The Fettling room is just that, a room, but has everything needed to carry out high quality bike repairs, services, tuning with advice on parts and upgrades. The quality of work and advice is first class.

Chris will forever be known as Saint Chris, Patron Saint of ill prepared female cyclists. Completely saved the day when I got a puncture 7 miles into cycling the Downs Link. Fortunately I was close to Cranleigh and Chris got me up and running so I could complete the journey to Shoreham. My hero! Also probably the coolest and tidiest workshop I have ever visited!

Thank you for brilliant service and for helping to fix my bike today. Fantastic service especially as they were not supposed to be working today. I would most definitely recommend you and I will be back for a service in the coming months. Ps Great coffee and cake!!

Highly recommended!! Had two bike mechanicals while out on fairly long road rides, on the first one found the shop via google maps. Called in more in expectation of having to call a taxi for the 30+ miles home as bottom bracket had failed. Amazingly Chris the fantastic mechanic stopped the job he was doing - put bike in stand and fitted a new bottom bracket while we had a coffee, charged hardly anything, and then I was very happily back on my bike. Second time my tubeless tyres were slowly losing air due to old sealant - same thing Chris stopped what he was doing - found the flint, topped tyre sealant up, and back on bike in 5 mins. Cracking coffee and cake as well - so I now always call in when in area. Cheers

Absolutely fantastic service. Had a puncture on a cycle down the Downs Link, and the team (half remotely) had the tools and equipment to get me back on my way again. Very friendly staff and a great cafe and shop to boot

Chris was recommended to me by a friend as I had a bike accident and the bike needed fixing. Chris is great, fabulous customer service and obviously incredibly knowledgeable. Despite being fully booked Chris was able to turn my bike around in only a few days as I have a sportive tomorrow, he was happy to go the extra mile. I will definitely be going back to Chris in the future for servicing and advice. Couldn't recommend him highly enough!

We were cycling the Downs Link and experienced a puncture. Although the mechanic was away, the cafe was open and they went out of their way to bring in someone to help us. Chris's wife made us feel very welcome and the cake while we waited for the repair was amazing. We went on to complete the ride to Brighton and couldn't have done it without their help and generosity. We hope to visit again on our next trip (for tea and cake, but hopefully we won't need a puncture repair). Would highly recommend them.
