I picked up my new electric bike from John at 50cycles in Hampton Wick a week ago. Service was excellent, helpful advice including testing the one I was interested in - and loving the difference it's made to my 22 mile commute. Would definitely recommend them as friendly and informative without being to 'bikey'.

Bought a bike from 50cycles four years ago and have been very happy with it. Brought it in for a service. John in the shop was very helpful. The bike was sent up to Matt in Loughborough. He too was helpful and called me to discuss what he had done. Love the bike as it has kept me cycling in 'older' age. Recommend both the cycles and the shop.

I bought a Kalkhoff Integrale electric cycle from 50 cycles earlier this year. The service during the test rides, the purchase and subsequently with some minor issues has been excellent. Harry in the Sheen store is not only very friendly and knowledgeable about the products, he always replies promptly to both pre and after-sales queries. The bicycle matches the service. It is excellent. Makes my commute to work from Kingston to Tooting so much easier than using the car. Not to mention, the savings on petrol. It's an expensive bicycle, but rapidly proving it's worth.

I took Harry's advice on which bike would suit me - an Agattu Premium 8. I had two long test rides in Richmond Park before making up my mind. It is really fortunate that such a good place to test a bike is so near. On the second ride I went up the steep hill past Petersham hotel and it was so easy that my mind was made up. The bike is very high quality and a joy to ride. It is expensive but I am buying for the long term. I didn't want to "buy cheap buy twice". Thanks Harry for your help and patience with this rather "nit-picking" customer.

Just bought a Kalkhoff bike from 50 cycles,I'm so happy I did, great service, and the bike gives you the opprtunity of mainting a fast speed a lot longer than I would be usually be able to maintain, or just take it easy and enjoy the scenery. Find it especially good after a night shift to get me through London and it easily makes up for my tired legs.As a motorcyclist it's a no-brainer to use in London. Not a lot slower than when on my motorcycle and no parking problems. As a bonus it encourages you to cycle with all the attendant health benefits.

Bought an e-bike from 50Cycles after an in depth chat with Harry who wasn't pushy but gave great advice and knew his stuff. Basically they offer a competitive price combined with old school service. I had a problem with the bike when it arrived by it was resolved super swiftly by Joe - appreciated. All in all a great buying experience.

I purchased a Kalkhoff Integrale i8 from 50cycles. The bicycle is excellent and I am very pleased with it.

50cycles try to be helpful, but their communication can be quite frustrating. In the process of ordering, the advice I was given about the size I required seemed inconsistent with that on their website. It turns out that the size charts on the website are out of date or inconsistent with this model of bicycle. Also, in my case, the bicycle took over 40 days to be delivered. 50cycles gave me several incorrect early dispatch dates in that period, seemingly with confidence and then stopped communicating. It would have been much more useful and efficient for everyone involved to have been told it would take 6 weeks. That is perfectly fine as long as it is made clear in advance.

We’ve had our Reise and Muller Roadster Mixte over a week now and it seems a fine machine. My wife is happy with it which is the important thing. What has not been so good, in fact has been bloody awful, was the process of acquiring the bike from Reise and Muller via the UK dealers 50Cycles. It was ordered on 15th December 2017 with a delivery date of 19th March 2018, already a very long delivery time for a standard catalogue item. However, that came and went without a word from 50Cycles (that was to become a pattern of this sale). When I chased them I was given a new delivery date, in fact I’ve been given many - 7th April, 24th April, 27th April , 14th May, all missed without any up front apology. It eventually turns up on 2nd June, the latest delay caused by the fact it arrived at the dealers with the wrong mudguards, something that they had the good sense to proactively address before delivering it to me.
Six months to get a bike delivered is outrageous. My mistake was paying up front for it to secure a small discount. Obviously once they had my money they didn’t care. I will not make that mistake again.
In the many, many conversations I’ve had with 50Cycles/R&M, I’ve struggled to get across what to me at least, are very fundamental points –
Don’t fail on a commitment made to a customer - but if unfortunately you are forced to, then proactively call them with an explanation and an apology – its called managing expectations.
The customer should never be put in the position of wasting hours chasing a supplier. For some reason 50Cycles/R&M did not seem to realise that my time had value to me and I didn’t want to waste it talking to them.
That being lied to is distressing. Even more so when this bike was actually meant as a present for my wife’s birthday in March and I was being put in the position of repeatedly disappointing her. Not a recipe for good relations.
So in summary, Reise and Muller – dreadful company, with some deep rooted customer management issues to resolve.
