Very happy with my new TCR and will use this local and family owned shop in the future.
Shortly after purchasing the bike spokes started to fall out along with numerous other faults. De Ver always charged me for these repairs knowing that the bike was purchased in Oct 2020 from them. I brought the bike in for the 4th time and said this can’t be right, I only use my bike minimally and I wouldn’t expect this on a £500 bike, let alone a bike purchased for £2,999 recently to have so many disrepairs. De Ver then said the spokes are covered on the warranty and did not charge on the 4th occasion. The bike continued to have faults on a monthly basis. On one occasion I was cycling on a busy road and as I changed gear the rear derailleur became loose and tangled the chain around the rear derailleur literally nearly killing me at the busy crossroads. Frightened and shook up by the incident I brought the bike into De Ver and explained the incident where they charged me £259.99 for a new derailleur with labour. I raised again how can the bike incur faults on a monthly basis, bearing in mind its still within 2 years of purchasing. De Ver continued to charge me giving me the ultimatum of did you want it repaired or not! Numerous other faulty items on the bike continued to be charged such as a new cassette, new disc lock, new chain etc. The repairs total nearly £1,000 since purchase, all of which were covered by the warranty which De Ver have confirmed.
I visited De Ver on 23/09/2022 as there was another fault on my bike. Maurice said he was not going to do the repair on my bike and he was still not going to give me the receipt for the bike. I asked he why he was treating me this way and his exact words were, “Because I just don’t like you”
I was absolutely gobsmacked at how I was spoken to!
I would recommend not to buy anything from De Ver, I nearly had a serious accident from the derailleur becoming loose while cycling on a very busy road. I currently have a faulty £3,000 bike which is not useable, still to date De Ver will not give me a receipt for the bike, spent nearly £1,000 on repairs which De Ver have confirmed were covered by warranty, but were continually charging me for knowing that the faults were covered by warranty.
