Great experience buying a bike from De Ver cycles. Julian was incredibly helpful and kept me informed about the order all the way and sorted out an issue very quickly and efficiently. The bike was built and shipped very promptly, and arrived in great condition. Would recommend!

I highly recommend De Ver Cycles. I ordered a bike through the Giant Website to collect from the store, and they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. They made some fit adjustments, changed the tyres and gave me some tips regarding maintenance and care. It's a shame I live so far away from the shop as I'd love to regularly visit, but it was worth travelling 50 miles just for the customer service.

Great service! All the staff I worked with thought out the process were top notch. The owner Maurice Burton is a cycling legend (google him!) and helped me with every part of the setup and fit.

Very happy with my new TCR and will use this local and family owned shop in the future.

I avoid this shop despite it being closer to me because they are con artists when it comes to repairing the bike. they're pleasant enough but I think about 4 times now they've quoted me a price to fix something on my bike- and when ive taken it elsewhere its been a 2 second job they've done for free!! The lady that works in sales is VERY sweet though, and helpful. Im talking about the mechanics/ management of the place.

Purchased a Merida Scultura Disc 7000E Road Bike (£2,999) from De Ver Cycles in Oct 2020. I have asked for a receipt over 20 times via email, calls and in person to all De Ver staff. To date, nearly 2 years after purchase, De Ver has still not provided a printed receipt to myself.

Shortly after purchasing the bike spokes started to fall out along with numerous other faults. De Ver always charged me for these repairs knowing that the bike was purchased in Oct 2020 from them. I brought the bike in for the 4th time and said this can’t be right, I only use my bike minimally and I wouldn’t expect this on a £500 bike, let alone a bike purchased for £2,999 recently to have so many disrepairs. De Ver then said the spokes are covered on the warranty and did not charge on the 4th occasion. The bike continued to have faults on a monthly basis. On one occasion I was cycling on a busy road and as I changed gear the rear derailleur became loose and tangled the chain around the rear derailleur literally nearly killing me at the busy crossroads. Frightened and shook up by the incident I brought the bike into De Ver and explained the incident where they charged me £259.99 for a new derailleur with labour. I raised again how can the bike incur faults on a monthly basis, bearing in mind its still within 2 years of purchasing. De Ver continued to charge me giving me the ultimatum of did you want it repaired or not! Numerous other faulty items on the bike continued to be charged such as a new cassette, new disc lock, new chain etc. The repairs total nearly £1,000 since purchase, all of which were covered by the warranty which De Ver have confirmed.
I visited De Ver on 23/09/2022 as there was another fault on my bike. Maurice said he was not going to do the repair on my bike and he was still not going to give me the receipt for the bike. I asked he why he was treating me this way and his exact words were, “Because I just don’t like you”
I was absolutely gobsmacked at how I was spoken to!
I would recommend not to buy anything from De Ver, I nearly had a serious accident from the derailleur becoming loose while cycling on a very busy road. I currently have a faulty £3,000 bike which is not useable, still to date De Ver will not give me a receipt for the bike, spent nearly £1,000 on repairs which De Ver have confirmed were covered by warranty, but were continually charging me for knowing that the faults were covered by warranty.

A rare, traditional shop with a 'can do' attitude, happy to go the extra mile - and Maurice (the shop owner) has a very interesting, inspirational past in cycling - a pleasure to talk to and deal with a legend! Thank you.

Purchased two bikes from this store. Staff are always friendly, able to answer any start-up queries and a good range of ancillary equipment in case any additional items required. Will use them again if ever in need of a bike!
