Julie has just serviced my poor, neglected bike which suffered 2 transatlantic journeys in a year, each time packed into a shipping container.

It's had an absolutely thorough service and rides better than it has for some time.

Julie's obviously passionate about her craft and takes a great pride in her work. Highly recommended.

We went to this bike shop just after Christmas in January 2019 as our grandson wanted to spend his Christmas money on a new bike. The owner Julie first asked us what he wanted to use the bike for and showed us a selection of appropriate bikes. She went through everything in absolute detail, showing us how to maintain the bike and nothing was to much trouble .While our grandson was out test riding the bike we explained to Julie that our 14 year old grandson was reluctant to wear his helmet due to peer pressure and when he returned she spoke to him and told him she would only sell him a bike if he promised to wear his helmet. ( I truly believe she would have rather lost the sale than let him have the bike if he wouldnt wear his helmet) Thank goodness he saw sense and always wears it after making a promise to the owner. Very grateful to Julie and would 100% recommend this shop for their help and expertise in choosing a bike. Many thanks Carole and Will from Hove

Absolutely first class service! With incredible knowledge!
Wished I had taken my children in there years ago! I could have saved myself so much money.
The owner has spent time with both of my boys attentively to find the correct bike for theire size and needs.
In addition to this, I’m amazed at the value for money for such quality bikes we now have. As a parent you need to know you children are riding a safe bike while out on the family bike rides. All of the bikes are fully serviced before you take them from the shop, giving you peace of mind to ride off anytime with them.

My nephew had an accident on his bike on the way to school. I tried 3 other repair places in the area and was told I’d have to wait at least 3 weeks for a repair due to the London to Brighton bike race demand. Then I found this gem of a place, they had the part we needed in stock, fitted it and did a thorough check within a couple of hours. Superb service, I won’t waste my time going anywhere else in future.

I visited the shop for the first time (1st March 2019) to look around and was greeted by Julie who runs the shop. I was very impressed with her knowledge and passion regarding all things bikes. She has a strong emphasis on safety and functionality on new products. Her friendly advice exceeded my expectations and I would certainly recommend her to you.

Bought a bike for my son in June 2018 and found the proprietor to be reasonable and I thought we were doing a good thing by supporting a local independent retailer. Was pleased initially. My son struggles with self-esteem and hadn’t used it much until earlier this year we wanted to try and help him to use it more before the weather got better so he could get the most out of it his summer when he would be too big for it. I found that there was a problem with the nut holding the crank on. I took the bike back to the shop as was too busy with work to try and fix it myself. The bike was over a year old but used perhaps a half dozen times since new. (January 2020)

My son was with me and my wife and I mentioned the issue and the shop owner immediately made reference to the bike no longer being a good size for him and we should instead be thinking of getting him a bigger one. I considered this to mean she was more interested in selling bikes than maintaining a relationship with her customers. I initially took the bike away expressing my dissatisfaction at her wishing to sell us a new bike instead of repairing the one that was hardly used and unable to be sold anyway because it was broken. Later that day I returned on my own and spoke with the owner again about the bike. She reluctantly agreed to look at the bike and would call in a day or so when she had mended it.

I had the call and I returned to collect the bike. I was presented with a bill for £36.75, not a large amount of money I agree however not insignificant. I reluctantly paid as the bike was out of warranty and any claim would have to be through Trading Standards or the Manufacturer.

In the last month (June 2020) I bought two bikes from other retailers. She lost £800 of business because of that choice. I’ll buy elsewhere in future and make time to maintain and repair them myself. (National 3rd Place BMX Champion 1992 - Zimbabwe)

I’m sure many others have had good service but sadly, I had a bad experience.

Absolutely fantastic service. Julie really knows her stuff about bikes and I really appreciate the effort she took to go above and beyond to teach me about my gear mechanisms and her reccoemndations for maintenance which places like Halfords don't bother to teach you. Important to support local businesses during this tough time.
