I've been cycling seriously for 30 years and so have seen many, many specialist bike shops. About once every decade I discover an outstanding bike shop that stands out head and shoulders above all the others, and this is definitely one of them. The staff are really experienced, really helpful and will ensure that they fix whatever problem you have, and source whatever component you want. The vibe around the shop is great and many of the customers ride regularly with the staff. I regularly recommend Strada to other cyclists - both those that are seriously into cycling and those that just need a good local bike shop. They're not the cheapest, but I don't want the cheapest, I want the best.

I am relatively new to cycling and need a bike shop I can trust. I got my most recent bicycle from Strada which was built by Mike and I am absolutely delighted with it. I have also ridden with Strada staff and on the Strada breakfast rides and gained valuable cycling experience. At the shop I found the whole team friendly, down-to-earth and knowledgeable. In summary Strada cycles are a great local business with amazing stock of bikes and everything else bike related you could possibly want.

I have used Strada for some years. The service has been excellent throughout. They have built two bikes for me which have been great. I have ridden with Strada staff and on Strada breakfast rides. Mike and colleagues put a lot of thought into choosing product for the shop and speak from experience. I don't tend to believe the negative comment posted here as it just does nt match my experience of their attitude to customer service.

Went in for a minor part and some questions. I was dreading it as I had done the same with other bike shops in Bristol and was met by disinterested staff who just wanted me to buy a new bike. That was not the case here, the staff were great, they patiently answered my questions, made some suggestions that wouldn't cost the earth, and didn't only offer me the most expensive solution in the shop.

This is how businesses earn a good reputation as a place that can be trusted.

Good work, Strada!

Olly the Strada mechanic is expert and painstaking. I've got two rather unusual and high spec bicycles. There's nobody I'd rather trust with my bikes. Strada is an up to date bike shop with the best of old fashioned values.

Great service and will be returning for all my bike needs in the future. Dropped my bike off on the Friday for a long overdue service and received a text the next day saying my bike was ready. Great. On picking it up I was told a detailed overview of the work that had been carried out on my bike and all the things that I should keep an eye on as they may need replacing in the future. All in all, the perfect service and done with a friendly smile. Will be recommending to all my bike-owning friends.

I booked a service with Strada cycles as my local bike shop, the overall service was pretty poor as well as the customer service. It definitely felt like it was a local bike who only want customers with top end bikes, which is real a shame. There are similar reviews are customer service so unfortunately it seems I'm not the only one who thought this.
I dropped my bike in on a Thursday morning and told it would be about £50 for service (about an hours worth of time), yep fine. I got a phone call in the afternoon to say the service was done and needs a new headset, this was as expected so confirmed to fit it, I was told it wasn't in stock so would order for the next day, it was also mentioned it may be an additional £10 to fit above the service cost, ok no worries. I asked if that was everything with the bike and was told yes. Great!
On the Friday I get a text at around 11am saying headset was in but no further updates. I hear nothing else that day, strange.
So I phoned early on the Saturday morning to to be told headset didn't come in until late so it couldn't be fitted yet (i know that is a lie as they text me in the morning of day before to say it was there). It was then said they were going to call to let me know the chain is worn and needs replacing, umm what, but they weren't sure if they have one in stock so may need to order and will let me know. No idea why did they say it as all fine except headset then, and also if chain needed to be ordered why not at the same time as headset?
After not hearing back all morning, I phoned early afternoon to be told just finishing and could collect shortly. Definitely got the impression that I was just a fill job around other jobs.
So the work was all done but then told the price, as already quite annoyed by service the price didn't help, £20 labour for headset, also a new cassette put on too (they say I was told this on phone but if they did it wasn't clear), so price is well over what is thought, and to be fair they did sort the price out which was good of them.
All would of good a better got a better review except as walking out I said thanks for sorting bike, apologies it didn't seem as grateful but bit shocked by price and the guy said don't worry we all have teenagers at home so used to complaining, fair play nice dig but if wasn't for your rubbish customer service I would of been happy to pay. Anyway least got money off.
After leaving shop, brakes were still rubbish (I don't think had been touched) and gears needed to be tweaked which I think is pretty poor for any service. For my next service I will go to Mud Dock where the staff are a lot more helpful, I recommend you go to Mud Dock or if not just somewhere else than Strada!

Update 06/12/17 ** I have have since had a call from the owner Mike, who offered to review my bike/free service, unfortunately I have lost all trust in Strada Cycles and have taken my bike elsewhere to sort out at additional cost to myself **
