The Court House

Lovely, newly decorated and freshened up. I had a ploughman's which was huge, they adjusted it to make it vegetarian and gluten free for me, my friend had w burger which she said was very nice. It got really busy with almost every table being used and they was a Friday lunch time. Nice out door seating area.

The pub has been refurbished extremely well and the team from the Wooden Fender are.making it their own. Food is up to the excellent standard you'd expect and the Sunday lunches are plentiful. Only downside is the start of the English wasp season so sitting outside can be a gamble with the occasional little sod buzzing round you but that is to be expected anywhere with outside dining.

Thoroughly recommended eatery and decent prices too.

3rd visit and every time I have been impressed by the food and service. Lovely menu and specials boards - plenty of choice. Beautifully cooked, great portion sizes and delicious desserts.

Well worth the visit. We found it by mistake but was well pleased. The food is excellent . It has quirky pictures and names for the rooms relating to a real court house which does not sound that interesting but it is done in good jest and definitely gives you something to sit and have a laugh about , Great place. They can also accommodate you in there newly built buildings , next to the pub, for a overnight stay . They looked beautiful.

Very comfortable and pleasant dining experience in the sister pub of the Wooden Fender at Ardleigh. Decent range of dishes and good sized, well presented portions. The shredded duck was delicious as was the chicken with Stilton and the jerk chicken with pitta. Excellent range of beers and lagers. Prices are on the higher side for pub/restaurant fayre but the quality was excellent so..... Anyway we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A warm welcome, care taken of special requests, beautiful food every visit served as hot as it ought to be and with just the right amount of waiting time. Friendly yet not over-bearing waiting staff where nothing is too much trouble. What a find The Court House is!

We have visited the Courthouse on many occasions, but last night (31/12/2022) was by far the best experience we have had.
We booked a room and only intended on having a couple of drinks before eating.
But that soon went out of the window.
The staff were so friendly, helpful and all working together to make sure that our experience was 1st Class.
The food was delicious and outstanding. We have eaten in many of the local restaurants and eateries, and we can definitely say that this is one of our favourite places to visit.
We could go on forever with our praise towards this establishment and its staff.
But if you are looking for a well run restaurant with great staff, then this is your place.

I’ve been a few times and I’m always left feeling so impressed. I really can’t fault the place, lovely atmosphere. Incredible, attentive staff and just an all rounder lovely place to go out to eat ! Most definitely become my regular place to go!
