First time I've used this store. Passed it many times but never ventured inside til now. I liked the layout much better than my local branch in Chatham where everything is in a cage. This was a Much better store to navigate and find what I wanted. I was after a kitchen wall unit, I had a look online and chose one. The website told me the store had several.in stock. I could of used the click and collect service but I wanted to browse the store anyway.
I bought a Dakota wall unit for garage storage. The quality is as I expected for the price. I would of liked something more substantial but what you pay is what you get. I don't think I would want now in my kitchen but it serves it's purpose well.

Today was our first visit after looking at other expensive building suppliers. We got all the things we needed at reasonable prices. They even gave us a damaged piece of plasterboard which I needed for a repair. Well done Wickes. We will be back soon.

Wickes could be really good, there's good stock, a good size store and the prices are reasonable. They whole shopping experience is let down by their staff. Thereis no understanding of what customer service actually is and everyone hives the impression that they would rather be somewhere else.

Today I was looking for a red wall paint, i needed one mixed for me but couldn’t find the right shade, so
a really top bloke with great customer service skills &
a good sense of humor helped me, he was so patient very helpful. So I want to say a big thank you to him.
I’m sure his name is Reece? If it isn’t I apologize but he is brilliant 😊

For anyone purchasing a new bathroom from Wickes please read this post first…

Disclaimer: I cannot fault my designer nor the products or delivery.. i am purely criticising and warning people reading the sub standard quality of our Wickes bathroom installer Daryl Walsh’s work.

So this is what I spent just under £9k for….
£8k to Wickes directly
£500 on tiles
And £500 directly to Daryl for extra works** which were not all carried out.

Our finished product is a bathroom that is a total mess and how anyone could be proud of this work is beyond me!

We have a shower we cannot use.. because the tiles on the back wall have been tiled directly onto the breeze block wall, no water protection or anything. (I had paid for the protective cover - wasn’t fitted).
The shower screen does not actually form a seal onto the bath.. therefore if you do shower you flood the floor…

A floor that has not been fully tiled (that I also had paid for) instead he tiled up to the bath.. then left it from there. There are bare floorboards here directly under them is my kitchen.

Now back to the tiling, which I think a blind man with no arms could of put them on more even!

(Not to add one evening we had 4 tiles fall from above the window into the bath - lucky no one was in the bath at the time otherwise this could have been even more messy)

He clearly did mastic everything with his eyes closed… it’s either way too much or none at all with huge gaps around my unit tops.

Nothing is cut straight; I have damaged cupboards! Soft Close cupboards that doesn’t actually close unless you force it.

The new extractor fan switch was filled so poorly again he just have had his eyes closed.

Now not to play the sympathy card but me and my wife have a 10 week old baby. Having the upheaval of not having a bathroom is not ideal..

The list goes on of issues found we are at over 62 currently. We do have the area installation manager coming tomorrow to review this handy work…

However just as a warning to anyone… if you’re going to Wickes for a new bathroom… just get it designed and the products… do not use their installation team.

Now this is a huge shame as we had our kitchen refitted by Wickes and the gentleman Andy who installed our kitchen I cannot fault!

Seem's to have been improvenents lately.. staff seem more interested now and have been quite helpful - even learned to amile! Don't rely on web site to know what is in store... ie, if it states 3 available it likely means 1 broken, 1 with missing bits and unable to find the 3rd.
