Wickes

Lovely store, most staff were helpful.

I was informed that the order would arrive as two deliveries. No problem. Some of the smaller items arrived. No problem. I received a call 20 minutes before the second delivery. Perfect. Then it arrived, which is when the problems started. The driver first said that he wouldn't be able to offload, as there were power cables. These power cables are 8 metres away from the curb and there had NEVER been a problem with deliveries in the past. He then agreed that he would offload, but it would be against the edge of the curb. Not ideal, but the customer agreed as we needed the items then. He then decided that he needed to have his 30 minutes break and would return shortly. Two hours later, he hadn't returned. The customer phoned up to see where he was, to be told that the driver had marked the delivery up as, "Failed". The customer then had to frantic phone around trying to get the items from elsewhere, which they have done, at a cheaper price. I then had a two hour round trip to Wickes in Chatham, to get one of the items they were unable to get. Wickes have still had the CHEEK to charge the delivery for the few items, which we could have picked up in the car. Crazy! Appalling!

How long does it take for wickes to complete a kitchen? Blame is given to suppliers and fitters, but not themselves. At present we have half a kitchen and are 14weeks into this job. Customer service is wanting to say the least. If you are happy to wait then go with wickes, otherwise take your business elsewhere. Frustrated doesn’t even cover it!!!!!!

Got smaller with Lidl being built next door, but always parking space and seems more organised now

Wickes Super Store building has been reduced in size and is now shared with Lidl.
Good range of products.

Small! Missing some items they had before reducing the store size. Not great.

Good range of products though my local store has split into two with Wickes a food store occupying the building.
The quality of wood can be somewhat variable so needs inspecting to make sure it's fit for the intended purpose.
