Whilst waiting to be served I observed the teller delining with an old lady who had a form to fill in and something else.
The teller didn't rush her through she spoke calmly and patiently and explained as she went.
At the end the lady asked for £20 pounds ... "How would you like like it?" ... "I don't suppose I could have pound coins" ... as the teller counted out the coins ... the lady said "Thank you so much, notes just slip through my brothers hands"
I wish more banks had this view of customer service.

Went into the beckenham branch this morning to close an account and withdraw my money to put into another account, the manager basically blackmailed me by saying I had to transfer my bonds into a nationwide account they won't let me put it into another account that isn't theirs, the problem wasn't resolved they are sending me my money in a check via the post which is riddickoulous to risk that amount! The manager is unhelpful and abuses his power by being passive aggressive towards the customers. I'm 24 years old and my nan swore by this bank but I am afraid I will never use there serivces ever again!

Staff are unbelievably obnoxious and rude. Completely unhelpful. I’m tired of going to my local nationwide only to be received wih contempt and attitude. My advice; never go here. Since this is how nationwide represents itself I’ll be cancelling all my accounts and going elsewhere.

Pleased to be banking with a Mutual Building Society for the benefit of all. Thomas, the Branch Manager, was a lovely chap, and the lady on the front-door asked if I'd like a seat as I am on a stick.

Rushed in all of a flap needing to make a speedy CHAPS transfer in order to exchange on a property and the staff were calm, friendly and incredibly helpful. Thank you in particular to Chloe for doing the transfer for us and for Anthony for commiserating about the struggles of home buying, it helped calm us down!
