First stop on our road trip,....
Nice open space, not on top of each other... Staff are friendly and helpful.. a member of staff let us borrow some pegs for our awning...

Facilities are clean and regular cleaning on site, a play park on site for kids. Surrounded by wild horses which is lovely to see. Very safe environment for kids to play.

A little disappointed the shop was closed for our visit. But, 5 minutes down the road in a village called, Bransgore, there is a Co-op to get your basics.

Overall, lovely site and nice experience. Will recommend to friends and family.

In a very nice location, ideal for walks in the forest. It's a strange site. Parts are beautiful and other parts, mainly hardstanding, look like a travellers site, but I suppose that comes from using a WW2 airbase.
I stayed here last year and had a great week on a good pitch. It didn't really cross my mind last year as we were lucky and I had no complaints with the pitch they put me on. This year I asked for the same pitch but they wouldn't allow it saying it was for groups only, but I wasn't in a group last year and the site was pretty full. This time it was fairly empty and what really got to me was the pitched I asked for remained empty all week. They did offer me another pitch along that row and tried to squeeze me in between others like sardines so I went with their first offer on the ridge.
As it went, it was quite a nice pitch but we were told it was a quiet private corner pitch. It wasn't that private when people, mainly site staff, kept using our pitch as a walk through, which I thought was plain ignorant. When I'm away, I see my pitch as my space and I don't want people wandering through my space as I'm having lunch or any other time for that matter. Also, if the weather had been better i would've been more dissapointed as we wouldn't have had any sun after about 4 o'clock, which is one reason I requested the other pitch for the evening sun.
I just didn't like the way we were guided to the pitch, told which way to pitch up and watched while we did it. I don't know why we weren't able to choose our own pitch, most other sites do, even other camping in the forest ones. It almost felt like they were being stubborn by not giving me the one I asked for.
Also, the website says early entry is allowed for £3, however they weren't letting anyone on until 12 o'clock. That's a bit of a stinker if you've travelled a long way.
I probably won't go again due to the risk on where I might end up, I may not be as lucky next time. The none electric eastern end of the site looks really nice so maybe I need to get set up for no electric hook up.
Also, the price is a bit on the steep side considering the standard of facilities compared with other sites.

Ideally located with great cycle and walking trails. Very helpful staff.
Ideally positioned for both forest and sea, Southampton and Bournemouth.
Because it's an old WW2 airfield, the campsite itself is not the most attractive, but easily made up for by the surrounding area. We will definitely return.

Third time here out of school holidays so quiet. Rangers very friendly and helpful.
Shower blocks and toilets amazingly clean. Well kept grounds. What a brilliant site made from a wartime airfield
Shop only open twice a day for a couple of hours which is very limiting.
Well positioned for visiting lots of stunning places. Stunning Avon Beach with Dog friendly area.

We decided to go to Holmsley campsite for our first ever camping experience, I must say for our first time we really enjoyed it. The site is on the former RAF Holmsley air field so even though it was very busy there was still space's available. The site has 2or 3 toilet blocks witch have shower's and a washing area for your pots and pans . I must say the shower block we used was very good very clean and not to busy . The campsite was very busy with families enjoying the great weather at the start of the summer holidays. If you fancy a family friendly campsite with good amenities in the new forest I would recommend this one, we will definitely be going back once we have bought a better tent.

We stayed at this site for a week in July, it is in a lovely location with easy access to both the forest and the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful but our experience wasn't all positive. We returned from a day out to find a 'village of vans, tents and cars pitched so close to us with foul language and loud music that we had to move as they were barely 2 metres from our awning. The site facilities were plentiful and largely clean, the showers were odd in that the dirty water from individual showering ran across all the shower floors under the partitions and as the showers were so small it was also difficult to keep clothes dry. We feel that caravan/camping units were allowed to park too close together considering the fire risk as it seemed to be a bit of a free for all as to where units set themselves up. We are unlikely to return to that site as the safe distance between units doesn't seem to be a priority.

Beautiful retreat in The New Forest with wild New Forest ponies roaming around. Was a shame the shop wasn't open but was a lovely site to stay on being and old Woeld War II Air Field, with lots of places to visit locally. Highly recommend 🐾🐕😃🐎
