This was our 1st campaing trip and we booked a woodland pitch. It was great, facilities were always clean and plenty available. The woodland pitch was nice and cool so we weren't affected by the heat at all. The fishing lakes were full of fish and the kids had great fun catching them. Would very much recommend and we will go back without a doubt.

Liked: The whole site is well organised, peaceful and clean. Pitches for campervans were spacious enough to use awnings with room to get in and out. Pitches for tents were not regimented in rows but left as areas of grass where folks pitched tents allowing room for each other. For the more private tenters there were individual pitches set in seclusion within the trees. We had a short moment of dread when a very large combined family group with hoards of children set up tents, trailer tent, campervan, windbreaks etc. adjacent to us. We need not have worried, the small people had fun during the day and were incredibly well behaved at night making no noise at all. By 10p.m the site was quiet enough for all who wanted to sleep. Toilets and showers were kept clean by site several times per day ( the only drawback being some users were not as clean and tidy as they might have been). For anglers there are two pools, the smaller one of which is full of small Rudd which I defy you to get past with any bait. There is a pub just over a mile away but if you walk to it for the sake of keeping safe make sure you take a torch as the route there and back is via a small country road with no footpath. South coast beaches and resorts are about 25 miles away and all are worth a day out especially Sidmouth for us. It is pretty safe to say we will be back to the site if reviews like this don’t have it too fully booked.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The toilet and shower block were the best we have ever experienced, clean and spacious. Room for families to shower together too. Absolutely spotless, so hats off to the staff. We loved the quietness of the site and the great places to walk our dogs. The site is only 30 mins from home, and we have now found a new, local campsite ideal for weekends and we will stay again.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

We had a brilliant long-weekend stay here and I cannot recommend it enough. We hired a yurt and asked to camp nearby so that our group could be together. The owners were able to accommodate our requests no questions asked. The yurt is really clean and cosy and was the highlight for the kids. Money well spent! The site itself has enough space for kids to play and lots of exploring to be done. There’s a lovely little lake for fishing and we spent some time building a den with kids. The shop sells most things you need (tonic!) and facilities are clean. A few more titles might be good when the site is full but we never had to wait. The owners are really lovely and even posted us a few things that we managed to leave behind. We’ll definitely be back!

Liked: I love this place!
Thanks so much to the lovely owners, so friendly and accommodating, we had a wonderful stay…
The yurt (and bell tent which we’ve stayed in previously) is fantastic, everything we needed and more.
Sparkling facilities (the yurt has it’s own bathroom) and well stocked shop.
We love that the yurt and bell tents are surrounded by woodland, it’s so peaceful and private, a real get back to nature.
Thanks you! We’ll be back ☺️☺️☺️

Just back yesterday from a five night stay here and I can highly recommend this place! We stayed in the Bluebell woodland pitch, it was really spacious and special. We had some brilliant campfires - you get a fire pit and bag of firewood with the woodland pitches - and it would have felt like proper wild camping if it weren’t for the facilities nearby. Fab, private toilets and showers, and use of a fridge freezer, all perfectly clean. Also really helpful and lovely owner. Location wise it’s a great ‘mid’ place where a number of places are easy to get to - our favourite was the south coast Donkey Sanctuary which was a 38 minute drive. Completely dog friendly, free parking, great restaurant and a walk down to Weston Beach. But that’s another review lol. Overall, this is a really beautiful and special campsite and we’ll definitely be back :)

Liked: This park was well set out, detailed instructions for how to get there via decent roads. We were given a choice of pitch either up near facilities or further down by a wooded area, we chose the latter. The facilities were still within easy reach and it gave us a feeling of wild camping with benefits.

Disliked: Low water pressure.

Liked: Quietness & quirkiness of the site - even though the bottom part was not being used out of season, you could see the woodland pitches & they were lovely. The lakes are beautiful & our dogs liked the field they were allowed to tear around in. Shop didn’t have brownies for sugar- starved husband but did have tea lights! Enjoyed our 1 night.

Disliked: Quite steep charges for Wi-Fi.
