Liked: Small site. all EHU pitches also come with a fresh water tap which is great.
facility is very clean. staff are friendly.
pitches are well maintained.
many pitches are under cover of the big trees which is a great benefit at hot days. also keep it cooler in the morning even when the sun's up high to have a better sleep.
over all, it's a lovely place, will recommend.

Disliked: the pitches are quite close to each other so if you and your neighbour both have large tents, your guylines are almost crossing each other.
one side of site is right next to a main road of the village, quite noisy when there's traffics but luckily not much traffic in the night time but do have loud tractors passing by in the early morning.

Liked: Fantastic location for exploring the area, well presented and very very clean. On arrival, we were met and guided to our pitch. Everything is very well set out and signposted. Nothing went wrong, everything was easy, and the toilet/shower block was fantastically clean. There was plenty of room for youngsters of all ages to play and run around without bumping into tent spaces. Friendly, professional staff, level pitches, fantastic facilities.

Liked: This site is just lovely , we had an electric families pitch overlooking the park. It was pretty level and a good size. Each pitch has its own water supply which is nice as it saved lugging water to and from a communal tap. Our pitch was in the corner and we had great views over the hills. A picnic table was provided too which came in really handy.

The site has some lovely walks and areas to entertain the kids including an orchard with a good selection of fruit and herbs to help yourself too and lots of hives (the honey is £6 and was delicious!) The park is well maintained and visible from the tent and there is a grass field play area for them too.

The facilities are some of the cleanest we've seen, they were kept spotless throughout our stay and the fact each cubicle had a full shower toilet and sink in made life with the kids much easier to get everyone washed in a morning. They are closed at 11am daily for cleaning so arnt available for about an hour but it's easy to avoid the cleaning times.

There are recycling and rubbish points dotted around to use and a compost area for food waste which was a nice touch. The site itself is very clean and pleasant to walk around.

We only met a couple members of staff but all were polite and it was easy to check in/out when we needed. The check in times were good 1/8 and the later check out time of 12 is good for packing down with kids! .

It was quiet from around 9pm each night which was lovely and the views of the surrounding hills were spectacular.

There is no onsite shop but the local village isn't far to drive or even walk and it has everything you could need and a big co-op.

All in all we would come back as we all loved our stay.

Liked: Beautifully, maintained little campsite. Clean toilets & showers.
We loved the orchard, the herb garden and the bee hives.
The circular layout of the electric pitches is ideal for parents supervising their younger children playing on the play equipment.
We loved the meadow wild camping pitches.
Excellent value for money

Disliked: Not much to dislike, if you are after a quiet, peaceful site.

Liked: We loved our stay at borders hideaway holiday home park. We loved everything on the site. The toilet facilities were always clean and easy to use.
Our family loved going for a walk around the site to find the orchard, herbs and bee hives.
Our girls loved walking down to compost bin to grab an apple on the way back to our tent.
The views are fantastic.
We loved having the play park in view of the tent at all times, so our 4 year old could have the independence to play and meet new friends.
The staff were so welcoming and helpful for any problems we had.
We can't wait to come back.

Liked: The view was amazing and very relaxing. The cleanliness of the site was A+. We have stayed on many camping sites over the years with a young family and more recently as a 'mature' couple. I have never been on a site so welcoming and friendly.
The couple managing the site during August '22 were very helpful and friendly and incredibly hard working. They never stopped making sure everything was clean and ready for use.
The surrounding area in the wye valley was very welcoming and relaxing. We always enjoy exploring the local areas and our experience was exceptional.

There was always fire wood available for fire pits that people used safely and with respect for other campers. There was a friendliness amongst everyone enjoying their break and there was even a campfire sing-a-long whilst we were there.

The pitch itself was clean and all facilities available. We never had any problems but we knew that help was available if we needed it.

We have placed our name on a waiting list for a seasonal pitch and winter storage as we really enjoyed our stay.

We can see why this is an award winning site and the little touches were appreciated such as the wooden sculptures, insect hotel and the nectar bar. The play area was really nice and much used.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: First experience camping 🏕 and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay, views were incredible, pitches were clean and tidy. Facilities were prestine and loads of things provided. The staff were lovely and friendly and will definitely be returning next year. Absolutely amazing camping experience and would highly recommend. I would give a 10 out of 10 for the whole experience there.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike, exceptional camping site.

Liked: Oh what a lovely place to stay, very friendly reception staff, quick tour of the site and left to get on with our stay. The toilet/shower block was very clean and well laid out with complementary washing up liquid (very handy as we forgot ours). The site is very clean and tidy. We stayed in the hard standing area and had full strength WiFi and it was free. Hay is only a 6 minute drive, Brecon beacon visitor centre is 1/2 hour away. All in all I would highly recommend this site and will definitely be going back!
