Kwik Fit - Bury St Edmunds

I turned up in a bit of emergency with a completely flat tyre and the staff quickly had my car up on the ramp and pointed out that 3 of my tyres were in a bad way! They quoted a reasonable price and had the tyres and tracking done in less than an hour!! So glad I was nearby! Perfect service!!

On inspecting my car for an interim service a few advisories came up. I agreed to change the two back tyres not realising if I'd said no and then returned a day later having ordered them online with fitting and wheel alignment I would have paid half of what I paid. The manager admitted this comes up a lot and apologised and said he would be talking to HO. A lesson learnt for me but this is rather underhand on the part of Kwik Fit.

I had a puncture 45 miles from home, and while able to change my wheel for a 'skinny' was not keen to drive 45 miles on a dual carriageway on it.
I called in to Kwik Fit Bury St Edmunds and was seen immediately and told that a tyre matching those on my car was in stock and could be fitted that day. I left the wheel with them and received a call later that day while we were sightseeing that it was ready and that they would be happy to change the wheel for me before my return home.

We called in later and were immediately waved in to a vacant bay and the wheel was rapidly changed for me.

The service was excellent, the call to tell me it was ready was a relief and was very polite and friendly.
Overall this was a great customer experience. I didn't like that I had a puncture but the Bury St Edmunds branch saved the day and showed great customer care.

I discovered a flat tyre on Saturday morning, and as anticipated it wasn't a tyre that was stocked and needed to be ordered in for Monday. I asked Harrison if I could leave the vehicle over the weekend and was delighted with a yes! Communication with Harrison was superb throughout, and got the vehicle back in time for my afternoon journey. Excellent customer experience

I went in for an alignment. I was told they could not do it because the control rod nut was seized, and they could not adjust the rod. Upon going to another shop to get the rod replaced, it was discovered that Kwik fit had loosened the rod so much that it was barely attached. I drove with the rod like that for 3 days. I was having worse steering issues than before I had tried to get the alignment. It made since why. The new shop told me I was very lucky not to have been in an accident or worse. I am lucky I was able to get the rod fixed when I did. They put my life and everyone elses in danger! I am never going to kwik fit again!

My fiancé took my car in for an alignment check 14 days ago. It was off so he agreed for them to fix it. Today I failed my MOT due to both front track rod ends and ball joints being extremely loose with excessive play. The alignment had never been done which has caused the ball joints to be damaged. There was a slight vibration in the front end on the drivers side, that was the whole reason for the alignment. The so called “well trained staff” should have never left them loose. They told my fiancé to get new rotators and brake pads to fix the issue. Both of which are only about 6 months old. Kwik fit gave him the “Yankee Treatment” since he is an American. Which means they did nothing and still charged him. Sure enough the ball joints were replaced and tracking rods tightened and the vibration is gone. Everyone who worked in the garage where I had my MOT confirmed the alignment had never been done. I do not recommend Kwik fit. In fact, avoid them at any cost!

Despite being short staffed .. Sunday.. guy leading was excellent.. young lad but very polite.. positive.. professional.

While waiting for tyre to be done witnessed a few walk-in and phone requests.. he and the other guys there always answered with good manners.. apologetic if couldn’t do it and offered alternative .. everything was reasonably quick and was impressed by team work and just how polite everyone was in a positive clean well kept environment.

Not used Kwik Fit for a number of years.. but if I need tyre etc in future I would definitely consider the Bury SE outlet based on this visit. Well done all concerned.
