they cancel my MOT appointment at last minute for no season, need booking again for next two weeks, but my MOT already due. Unhappy for the services.

Phoned to make enquiries about fitting a starter motor gave details of car to Halfords they said they'll get back to me a.s.a.p. Still waiting 4 days after making enquiries.

I don't know why I went back but I was working close by and in a fix.
Broken spring. Quoted £290
Then they phoned saying they MIGHT have trouble taking parts off because they might be seized and it would cost up to £400.
I told them I wasn't going to agree to pay £400 at the time they didn't know the parts were seized. I would only pay for parts that needed replacing.
30minutes later they called again saying the same thing. Again I told them I would not agree to pay £400 "just in case" the parts needed replacing and that I'd only pay for the parts that really needed replacing.
I expressed to them that in effect by agreeing to pay a bill that wasn't required it was essentially a licence for them to replace what they wanted.
I asked for a comprehensive breakdown of the items that they anticipated they needed to replace so I had an informed idea of what it would cost me. They quoted me a bill exceeding £700.

£700 to replace a spring!!

Needless to say I picked my car up and took it to another garage. Without telling them about the problems I had at the Halfords, They fixed it within 2.5hours for a cost of £229 the next day. They didn't phone me or tell me they had any trouble taking any of the parts off. Nor did they tell me they had any concern about any of the parts I was advised to replace.

This goes to show how dishonest the staff in this place is. They tried to pull the wool over my eyes. Imagine those more vulnerable... The elderly or less aware. Disgusting.

CON NO.1 December 2021
It gets two stars for doing the repairs promptly but.... I just removed it to one star because I can't give negative numbers now. After con number 2, they do not deserve a rating.

Took the car in to repair a clunk with the steering. Quoted £209 for two stabiliser links and 1 rear axel wishbone arm for a 120d.

1.5hr later, went to collect it and they tried to charge me £309. I challenged them and received the work for the original price quoted.

My concern is the ease in which the £100 was applied and even taken off the bill. If anyone less confident in making that challenge had been in that situation they would have over paid.

Call me cynical but my eyebrows raised when whilst at the counter the MOT tester diagnosed another car with two failed stabiliser links. Spooky coincidence.

Whole experience fills me with zero confidence.

This was my final bill:
Renew both front stabiliser links £145.62

Renew the lower suspension wishbone arm (rear axle - left side) £163.59

TOTAL £209.21

First time using Halfords Autocentre. I had 2 tyres supplied and fitted. Very happy with the service I received and the cost.

Very helpful and professional staff :). A member of staff named Ainsley was particularly helpful with my MOT.

A Full Anual Service done but before the work done they said that there are some works to be done recommended thjat will cost around £950 but my son refuse the job. The following morning after the service, the Car Battery was totally Dead and need to bring back the car to Halfords and spend another £15 + labour. Another problem coming at the right wheel a noise while driving that it only happend just after the service in Halford Auto Centre Llanelli and they want to bring back the car again for the job. These people are Scammers. They are destroying the reputation of the Company. Halfords lost 3 costumer from us already... Just be Warned everyone...
