Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Waltham Abbey

I had a pick up arranged with this enterprise, unfortunately they left me waiting for two hours on the side of the road. I phoned multiple times however they very rarely answer. On one occasion the phone genuinely rang for over 10 minutes.

When they did answer I was assured they wouldn’t be long as they were only 15-20 mins away. However my wait continued.

When they did eventually turn up they dropped the car to me instead, which is fine, however after he left I got in and discovered the seat was broken and could not be moved. I had to drive for hours in a very cramped and uncomfortable position. I’m surprised the car was on hire with such a flaw as I believe this could be considered dangerous.

As usual with the London branches the staff were unprofessional and uncaring. They talk to you like they’re your mate and not a customer. I find branches outside of London to be friendly, polite and very professional. Their customer service is top notch and they will go above and beyond for you. The same can not be said of this branch. One of the worst I’ve had to deal with.

The guy was super helpful, they were very efficient and pleasant to deal with, making the whole experience of renting a temporary van great. Will definitely use these guys again.

SCAMMERS!!! Had to use Enterprise at Waltham Abbey last week as part of the Ford Rental programme whilst our car was getting repaired. Upon collecting the car my wife flagged that the wheels on the Fiat 500 were in bad condition only to be told this wasn’t an issue as they only really care about body work and therefore no need to include it on the pre-hire appraisal.
Having only had the car for a few days literally to do a couple of school runs we dropped the car at Gates Stevenage yesterday when it was time to collect our repaired vehicle. Pretty straightforward, or so you’d think… This evening my wife received a call from Enterprise saying that both front wheels were split, the wheels were damaged and we needed to pay £500!!
When my wife asked to see photos or arrange a date to inspect the vehicle she was told it was too late as the tyres and wheels had been sent to get fixed - even though no one had flagged this when they collected the car from Stevenage or called us beforehand to inform us. We now need to take it up with Ford Rental.
The good news though is that my wife took a video and photos of the damaged wheels at the Enterprise offices before she left the forecourt as she has worked in the auto trade so I cannot wait to tell them they are going to be reported for fraud AND to Ford for trying to rip off their customers. I hope Enterprise lose the contract as Ford’s preferred rental supplier.
Having just read other reviews on Google below it seems that we are not the only ones who they have tried to scam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Scammers! Avoid using their services!
On the collection of the vehicle, I have mentioned that there were few scratches on the car and the person I have collected the car from told me that they are aware of those and there would not be a problem, however once I returned the vehicle I have been accused with the same scratches I showed them and they wanted to make me responsible for it. They claimed that they were not noted on the rental agreement.
I filed a formal complaint and requested camera recordings and inspection report prior to my hire.
They never supplied any of the information I have requested from them and also they have taken £854.59 from my bank account without even notifying me and supplying any invoice for it. I am not even sure what I have paid for.
I was rushing to work when I was collecting the vehicle, therefore I did not take photos of the car and I have not read the rental agreement properly just signed it. (They don't expect you to read it anyway, just handed the tablet for me to sign it). If you do what I do this company will take advantage of it.
Therefore, when you renting a vehicle make sure take you time to read rental agreement and take a lot of photos and videos of the car. Specially when hiring from Enterprise Waltham Abbey as they will scam you!!!!!
