Excellent service. I urgently needed a van at 4.00pm in the afternoon which I booked and paid for over the phone via their website. At 4.20pm I was at their lot to collect the van and we did the paperwork in about 10 minutes. All they needed was my driving license and my bank statement which I had on my mobile phone banking app. This was because they needed proof that it was my card being used to pay for the car rental. Anyway, very helpful counter staff who let me keep my car parked on their lot overnight while I went off with the van. The van was spotless and as I'd paid over the phone, it was only £39.00 for 24 hours. Not a bad deal for getting me out of a tight spot in under half an hour! I'll definitely use them again.

I booked Thrifty so I could return on a Sunday. (Few rental companies are open on Sunday, which these days is just daft) Booked the car online on Thurs. Received paperwork electronically.
Received a reminder text on Friday. Arrived on Saturday. Booking in took a bit of time, as I didn't have a utility bill to hand. But I had my Driving license code, and all else went like clockwork. The salesman was really helpful and cheery.
The van was new and in excellent condition. Met all our needs for moving all my gear.
Returned the next day and a different salesman was equally helpful and cheery. We went through the paperwork together and my deposit was back in my account this morning (not the 3 days as indicated).
I'm sorry to those who have had bad experiences. I can't fault them. Thank you.

Good friendly service. Car was very good. I had to extend the agreed rental period by a day and that was easily sorted over the phone. They do require more documentation than some other rental companies but contact them beforehand and find out what they want before you turn up to pick up the car. My experience was good.

Never is a long time, but in this case it will be "Never Again". I was due to rent a vehicle from Thrifty in Cambridge on 24th August and informed to collect the car by 10.30 am. On arrival at 10.15 the cubicle was extremely busy with only 1 clerk on duty. There were 4 people in front of me. After about 25 minutes the couple at the desk were finished and the clerk could attend to the following customer. After about 50minutes waiting and still 3 people in front of me - who were all rolling their eyes and expressing how long they had been waiting, I decided that I could not wait longer. It was my daughter's wedding and as father of the bride, I would be late walking her down the isle if I had to wait any longer. My brother and I approach a clerk in the car park area who were entering the office and we asked him if there is anything that could be done. He called the manager. The manager came out and explained that they are under staffed. Rather than attempting to resolve my predicament and try and arrange something for me, I was told that I had waited too late to make my booking and I was made felt that it is all my own fault. There was no attempt to keep me as a customer. I requested a full refund as I simply could not wait any longer. She agreed to arrange for the refund. However, nothing has happened since and my numerous emails are not being replied to. The official response after sending the emails state "we will get back to you within 5 days". This has come and gone on each of the emails I sent. There is absolutely nothing thrifty about Thrifty. We had a great wedding, but the experience with Thrifty that day, has dampened my spirits !!

Do not order from these!!!!. I've had a vehicle with these for several months now, as it's who my company decided to use.
I'm constantly having to change vehicles because they feel the need to change it every 2 seconds.
They bombard you with numerous emails daily just to check a mileage. And when you arrange a time for them to exchange the vehicle, they can't even keep to the timing they agreed to in the first place(Anytime before 12pm, not exactly a small time frame).
It's ok THRIFTY just keep me waiting for 2 hours because no one else works for a living.

Awful. No Thrifty at the Arrivals in the airport, they were working thought Hertz. The £40 I paid for full cover when I booked through the airline they said didn't count as it wasn't through them. The Seat Leon I booked wasn't there and they could only offer a Renault Capture and I either had to pay an extra £120 or £800 deposit because I had a debit card not a credit card. I walked away at midnight and had to get a taxi across Gran Canaria and had no car for the week and lost the money as I'd paid online. After, No contact number/customer services to be found, couldn't call from Spain anyway. Had to take out a Spanish sim, make a WhatsApp account and then contact them on WhatsApp. Waited 2 days for the automated service to provide me a contact number only to get through to a girl in the Philippines who told me I could neither speak to the manager and refunds were not their policy! Under no circumstance deal with this company. Not dealing with them should be your policy, it is mine now. Booking ref: 741094062

Awful experience. First, checkout takes comprehensive damage report on car. I've only seen this in third world countries. Be sure to video everything! Second, given this mania for noting even blemish, they were surprised when I told them that the car smelled like an ashtray and they we had specified a non-smoking car. Their response? Oh all of our cars are non-smoking. Really? When they smelled the interior (and noted it on their form thank god), that gave me a can of smelly spray to cover it up and said I could take it or leave it. Well, I was on holiday with my family so I had no choice but to take it. My three kids spent the first half hour gagging. Very pleasant. This, without prior warning they make you prepay a 700 pound damage deposit, which they refunded about 10 days after I returned the vehicle (and 2 emails later). Total scam operation.

These guys are joke. Supposed to get courtesy car at 4pm after many hours or rigorous paper check. At 5pm, I call them asking where my car is. Ofcourse, it is delayed. Says it is delayed and comes at 5:30. It is 6pm..

These guys are absolute trolls. Dont waste your time with these jokers, gave me migraine.
