Thrifty Car and Van Rental Maidstone

I had the pleasure of using Thrifty cars Maidstone Branch, the staff were magnificent (Andy & Megan), as the car I booked wasn't available I received a free upgrade. The only downside was that you are unable to leave your car and deposit the keys in a safe Dropbox outside of office hours, but overall I wouldn't hesitate to use Thrifty again. Kept up the good work people

Booked a car the night before, picked up next day, within 10min of walking into the office, was driving off, wasn't pressured into excess waiver or anything else. On return, 5min paperwork and car checks all done. Was my first time using thrifty and I would definitely use them again.

Note: always take photos of the car before you drive off even if you are told scratches too small, this has saved me before, with other rental firms.

Vehicle was faulty.

1. Speedo was roughly 10mile a hour out once I got over 50mph lorries would overtake me at "70" basically resulting in me having to guess my speed for the duration of the hire, which is great fun around London...

2. Parking sensors would either go mental at reversing out of a parking space, despite being enough room to turn behind, or just fail to work resulting in a bump to the rear bumper from a raised curb. Which I was then charged £540 for after several weeks of chasing with no updates from them...

Upon raising the faulty vehicle in an email to thrifty they never even bother to respond to it in any way instead copying and pasting from some document presumably, not sure why that took a week either...

Extremely helpful and polite staff. Vehicle was immaculate inside and out, full of fuel and the paperwork process was swift and straightforward. Overall fantastic customer service and I would highly recommend this hire car company. Will definitely be using their services again.

I booked online from Australia, got a great deal. Fantastic service today at pickup from Susan at Maidstone branch, friendly happy and showed me the car properly and all the functions. The best bit I got a beautiful sporty Fiesta it's lovely to drive and alot of fun!

Discussed. I was supplied a load car in a unroad worthy and dangerous condition . I found wheel bolts in the glove box and boot of the vehicle on further inspection I found bolts missing from the wheels and bolts lose. so I reported this defect to the company. I was informed this was my fault and they tried to charge me to rectify. dangerous cars. Advice to anyone hiring apparently it's your responsibility to check that the wheel bolts are all fitted and fitted tight when you receive the vehicle???

We used thrifty last year, and found they were excellent. The staff were so helpful. Price was great. I would recommend thrifty to everyone.
Coming all the way from Australia to the UK, thrifty were very helpful and made sure we were ok.
We are hoping to use them again when we come back this year.

Faultless service from start to finish. Car was upgraded which was a bonus and the car was spotless inside & out. Cheery friendly staff which is rare nowadays. Definitely be using you again
