So the thought let’s try hertz ...... mistake !!! Hertz has a very Rude manager believe Jo was her name ! We felt like she didn’t care about us as customers and didn’t want to really give us anytime of her day !!
My family member and I ended up going to Avis (10 steps away )
Greeted by a smile from the Avis manager called Paul. Paul and Robert looked after us at the start and Richard Checked us in... hertz = poor customer service
Avis = great customer service !
To begin with we were very badly received at the rental office. As English is not our mother tongue we had to ask several times to repeat or speak more slowly, but the person who welcomed us did not want to make an effort to help us. They seemed in a hurry to get us out of the counter.
We wanted to do an inventory of the car with a person from the company but we were told it was done before we rented the car. So we trusted them.
We headed alone, on the other side of the station, into a very dark multi-storey car park. Surprisingly, the car we were rented is smaller than the one we booked at the beginning.
When we get on the car we notice scratches on it but we settle in with peace of mind because we were previously assured that the inventory of fixtures was done before we rented the car. Very bad action on our part !!! When we returned the car we were accused of having caused the scratches ourselves ! While we can see on a picture we took in the parking lot that the car already showed its scratches. But no we have to pay for the repair of the scratches that were present before our rental ! incredible
It should also be noted that just over half of the car was filled up. But no one at the counter anymore, we met the person who received us who was leaving by car from the car park.
and of course as good tourists we are, we have signed the rental contract which states that we agree with the inventory of fixtures that we have not even been shown....
A good way to end the holidays!
Nearly forgot to say. The Hertz desk is in the Eurostar reception hall but after a short walk from the BR station through the walkway to the other side I made it. Dont think this is made clear but I maybe mistaken.
