I had a really negative experience with Avis London Euston branch. My family rented a car for the August Bank Holiday weekend. The maintenance service light was on when we got the car (Peugeot 3008). It looked like the car was due for a service and replacement of the tires due to low tread. Then during our trip to Cornwall, the rear right tire had two punctures resulting in 3 call outs from AA and 2 visits to the tire replace shop. All in all, we spent at least 6-7 hours dealing with car maintenance problems over a 3-day trip. We then brought up the problems upon returning the car to London Euston Avis and were told they’d look into giving us a full refund but that the authorising manager was not in and that rear assured the manager would call us the next day. Days go by and no word from the manager. We’ve called central Avis but they keep passing us to others with extremely long hold times and the end result is we’ve still not received the refund. Perhaps someone will see this review and will be able to help.

Doing a good job at service counter but allow at least 60 mins for entire process - don't cut it fine. We had booked it all online prior and all information was there, however, we still needed the above time frame.
Also there are no bathrooms here, so use those at Euston station before walking over to Avis.
Frequent reports in other reviews of customers being charged for damage that was already on the hire-cars means we'll take photos of the car before leaving.

Annoyed isn't the word here.

Booked a vehicle for a couple of days in July. Got there and was refused the vehicle because of a previous disqualification on my licence, fair enough. Was told I would get a refund and then proceeded to check out a car with my wife's licence. All good.

A month later, still haven't received a refund, and Avis are now saying that I will not get a refund because its in their terms and conditions. Then why did the agent at the station say I will get a refund? If he told me I wouldn't I sure as hell wouldn't have checked a car out with my wife's licence giving these money thieves another cent.

Extremely disappointing customer service from Avis, I'm very shocked. On the 23/9 my partner went along to collect the car he had already paid full amount for and was rejected (Euston). This was my first red flag, the treatment he received was nothing short of unhelpful and to be quite frank bordering on racial profiling. Once they decided he was not allowed to have the vehicle (we ended up renting with a different car company and it was incredible!) he was told he would receive the refund for the payment they had already taken. I can tell you that until this day he has not received a penny. He has called many times and they just keep fobbing him off! its over £250 so it's just not on! I myself called customer service and spoke to someone called 'Dan/Danny' who was so rude! never ever use Avis, use other companies before this one! my dad did warn us, but we didn't listen. I will be taking this further as nothing is being done. I've contacted Trader and we'll see where go from there!

I took a rented car here with some friends. The professionalism of the staff is optimal. The car was very clean and we were able to go out and do what my friends and I planned very safely and without problems.

This was the easiest car hire I have had in literally years. The price was excellent, the car was in fantastic shape, and the SERVICE was amazing. I'd forgotten that some business still care about customer service. They explained everything, offered extras without being pushy, and were clear on what might or might not be charged, and were helpful from the minute we walked in to the moment we returned the car. Just excellent all the way 'round. Thanks, Budget/Avis!

gave us a vehicle smaller than what we wanted despite being a "preferred customer". This put myself and my passengers at risk of safety and comfort as we had to stack luggage on our laps for an 8 hour drive both ways.

I am surprised that an international car rental company like Avis does not have anyone answering the customer service line. I wanted to extend my car hire and tried calling Avis customer care. I tried calling several times at different times of the day and NO ONE ANSWERED TYE THE LINE. The least AVIS can do is have an automated message saying what their working hours are or how a customer can get a response to their issue!!!!!
