Both great asset to Europcar Purfleet 🌟
Car was faulty! Had a puncture. Must have been driven with the puncture and the driver ignore it!
I then spent the rest of the day making numerous phone calls to get some help!
They sent RAC who couldn’t fix so told me they would pump tyre up and I must drive it 5 minutes away to my nearest Kwik Fit.
I called Kwik Fit, they said they do no work like that and they could not fit me in to fix car until Monday anyway.
I then called Europcar and advised them of current situation. They disagreed with RAC and Kwik Fit. They then asked me to drive the car to Europcar Purfleet who would replace the tyre there themselves.
As I was about to leave, I had another call from Europcar. I was not to drive the car and they would be bringing me a car and taking the faulty one away.
I heard nothing so called Europcar again.
Europcar said they had no cars and would be in touch when they could provide me one.
I explained I had a faulty car on my drive and am still without a courtesy car?! They said they couldn’t help and would give me a car when they had one!
I said I need a call back in an hour with an update.
No one has called and no one is answering.
I have complained to their customer services but no satisfactory response. I can see their response on other reviews is call their number to complain - not quite sure how that works since they don’t answer the phone or respond? They are obviously just putting that on here to make it seem that they are helping.
I have now had to cancel my weekend plans.
I was supposed to be given a car at 1pm on 5th October but the car never showed. I called about it, only to be told there would be no car coming at all (baring in mind, my booking was made 2 weeks prior, so not a last minute booking).
My car was in for repair to I was at work with no way home, when I asked europcar customer service what I could do instead, I was told "not my problem" by the person on the phone, who then hung up on me. Leaving me stranded at work.
5 hours later, I was waiting for a lift in a complete state of stress, only for a car to turn up which apparently was for me.
At this point, I was slightly relieved but the car was then covered in damage that wasn't documented on the report they asked me to sign. I was told to sign it anyway and report the damage on the phone within 24 hours, so I did.
On pickup, none of the new reported damage was recorded and they expected me to sign it anyway. The collector was getting frustrated and couldn't understand why I "won't just sign it". I had to write all over the paperwork to include the endless damage which was not initially included by Europcar, just to feel safe in returning the vehicle.
I absolutely would not reccomend Europcar at all. Please go anywhere else if you need a hire car.
You'd think that being one of the largest hire vehicle companies in Essex, they would be better than this and care a little more!
