ACE Rent A Car

Same problem here. Got charged a lot for a really really light scratch. Don't recommend this company at all if you want to enjoy your trip. Also, this company is called green motion. Didn't see ACE sign anywhere.

Operated by Green Motion - do not use. Unexpected charges in Euro instead of GBP, failed to provide vehicle, lost money on the company and on the cab I had to book to take our family on the planned break we had. Avoid at ALL COSTS!

Three days before Christmas and planning a family break we showed up on time at the Heathrow pick-up area to get our car. After 2h of waiting in line and speaking to counter staff we were refused the rental that we had booked because both the credit and the debit card that we had brought with us needed to have a name written on them - this was NOT in the T&C.

International cards were not accepted as alternatives "Visa or Mastercard only", but only if it is a UK Visa or a UK Mastercard (not, e.g., Visa International). No alternatives provided, no refund provided, and even worse, was told that despite being at the agency on time and ready to pay for our vehicle we would be CHARGED 130 EUR for failing to pick up the Vehicle!

One attempt to speak to another car agency showed - surprise surprise - that all cars were booked and that the last remaining vehicles were £500+ for two days of rental.

In the end we booked a cab to drive 2h to get to our destination (costing £180).

Total rip-off does not even begin to describe this place. I feel bad for other customers who were standing next to me and had been flying in to rent their cars and were being declined for all sorts of bizarre reasons - e.g. Maltese driving licenses not being recognised. Lots of shouting in a confined space; I felt bad for the counter staff who seemed to have been there for hours and had sullen depressed looks about them. And of course for the tourists who have no recourse. This operation continues unchallenged. As a local I will not use ever this group again and further intend to pursue for a full refund of the cab and the additional charges for "failing" to pick up the car.

For now, be warned, do not use.

Operated by Green motion car, who will say Ace rental car is a dodge American brand, and left me no option but to pay additional £90 to bring the cover to the British minimal requirement. (otherwise I was forced to sign another long terms and conditions with all the legal jargon on it)

The bottom line - don't make the same mistake as I have. You will end up paying more.

Don't use ACE or Green Motion Rentals in Heathrow. I was charged a compulsory collision damage waiver that wasn't mentioned when I booked and more than doubles the cost of the rental. Total scam.

Important to know that ACE Rent A Car doesn't exist and this is Green Rentals. ACE Is a middle vendor that just source deals at boutique locations. The rental car is slotted across from the Holiday Inn's reception. Staff were nice and prices were alright.

I read many bad review but still took them because they are cheaper. Turn out to be smooth. I did buy extra insurance for hassle free vacation.

The guy behind the counter was extremely helpful. Booking from US gives you only partial information.

There is no "Ace rent a car" in LHR; and no one knows about it there! You have to ask for "green motion rental". There is also no shuttle to "Ace rent a car"

The staff were polite to me, I have no qualms with them at all. I found the process of getting to the location, getting the car and everything involved to be overly convoluted with absolutely o instructions on where to go. I had to reach out to American Express to even find the place! The car was given to me on 1/4 of a tank which meant I had to fill it up very shortly after getting it, the engine knocked and it ran rough. I’m definitely avoiding ace in the future.
