Rent Direct Car and Van Hire Bury St Edmunds

Great service and price! My car broke down on Good Friday which left me stuck without a car for Easter bank holiday weekend, when I really needed to be mobile. Rent Direct were available, helpful and and got me back on the road again, with a superb car that was like a spaceship! I'm a very happy customer!

This was very short notice. I needed a van, and afraid to say I had gone to enterprise rent a van first. They had let me down on the morning of picking the van up. Terrible service. In a panic I went for option two 'rent direct' and they could not have been more helpful or caring. Sorted me out there and then. The lady who served me, sorry if I spell her name wrong, Katlyn was excellent.

Good value car rental for all size cars and for all lengths of rental. I hired a Kia Proceed for two weeks and a Kia Picanto for 6 weeks and both late model cars in excellent condition. The limited mileage can be an issue but just need to be careful and take note.

This is the second time I've rented with Rent Direct (previous experience was from Cambridge). They are so much better than the car rental majors. It was a hassle free experience. The vehicle was excellent.

For the second time in 3 weeks, we rented a van from the Bury St Edmunds office .Shortly after making the reservation we had to temporarily hold the booking and nothing was too much trouble for Paul to do this. He then ,at very short notice on my behalf, made the van available to us .Excellent service . On the day it was Caitlin who dealt with the handover and return and was most friendly and efficient . I cannot recommend this company enough .

Make sure that when you collect your vehicle you get them to record every tiny scratch or scruff - maybe take pictures. I took out a van to help someone move flat and when I returned it they charged me because there was a little scruffing on the rim of a plastic wheel trim - see photo (you’ll have to look hard to see it). It’s so small that even if I had noticed it when I collected the van I would have felt silly pointing it out. The van rental was a decent price but just be aware that it might get expensive if they charge you for every small bit of everyday wear and tear.

I would definitely use Rent Direct in Bury St. Edmunds again.
Very good price, great service and good car. It was a smooth streamlined online process and didn't feel like I was going to fall foul of some process to get more money out of me, which is my usual car rental experience.
