Thrifty Car and Van Rental Greenwich

What AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!! Avoid if you can these are the cowboys of the car rental business. I lost my whole deposit for damage which was largely cosmetic to the vehicle and then they added hidden fees which somehow came to the exact value of my deposit. This is an extremely dodgy company with a lack of Customer Service. No mention that the alloy was not covered in the Tyre and Windscreen policy I took out and they will charge you for small scratches on the vehicle which was not mentioned at the time of the hire.
I was also disgusted with the lack of support from the staff who seem to be brainwashed into saying the same thing over and over again. It was like talking to a robot and the sense that you had been taken for a ride. I will never ever use this company again they are a disgrace to the rental business. I suggest using either Enterprise or Europcar as you know you will be dealing with professional staff and a business which provides you with good Customer Service and does not try to rob you blind.

I had read some poor reviews about Thrifty so I was a bit concerned. i chose them based on a good price. the whole experience was very positive. I arranged to pick the car up a day early - no props. the person dealing with pick-up was very courteous and friendly and efficient. The car was great for the two weeks and drop off was smooth and straightforward. I will definitely use Thrifty again.

Polite and friendly staff on pick up and efficient on return of our car, can't fault them. I was fortunate enough to get a free upgrade, as the car I'd booked was not available at the time of my collection. I opted for the extra cover against accidental damage, for peace of mind. Will be booking with them again. Thanks.

I hired from the company, everything while taking the car was good initially. I took the excess cover for 16£. So I know nothing would have been charged later. While returning the car I told the guy at the reception to check if everything is OK, but I guess he was too busy relaxing as it was a Sunday morning return. The company has later charged me 15£ for fuel . I did return the car full tank and this is complete rubbish. Just because I took the excess cover company couldn't make the any other charges they charge me for fuel which was already full tank. Such a bad customer service. I have hired cars before from Europcar and Avis and even thrifty but this was such a rubbish experience. The company need to teach there employees that just to make some bonus on there salaries they cant just charge extra to the customer.

I am a regular customer. The cars are new and nice to drive, and staff are polite and very friendly. Last time we were looked after by Rashid, who did great. The waiting time can be frustrating when it's busy, and it's a shame that the opening hours are not a bit longer. Overall they are pretty good .

I was warey of using this place due to bad reviews. The staff were friendly and helpful and the vehicles are top! I was served quickly but it took along time to complete. Michael was excellent and he offered me a free upgrade as he understood it took longer than normal. I walked out with a brand new Golf. It was very busy, there always seemed to be a queqe, but staff were trying to get through people as quickly as possible. I'd probably come back a again, as the staff were very helpful, even in very busy circumstances.

Fantastic service. The staff here are friendly and made pickup and return very easy. The car I was given was brand new, it had about 9 miles on the clock and was absolutely immaculate. Return was equally easy, despite other difficult festive customers (shame some people have no patience!) Great experience, will hire from here again.

I hired a car from here mid Feb 2018 and all was good until I came to return! They charged me for a damage that was smaller than a certain size which in their own policy doesn't allow them to charge for. I did manage to get this back after a lengthy back and forth of calls and emails but then they decided to charge me for VAT which apparently they forgot to charge when I took the car! Not only that they decided to take this about a week after I returned the vehicle with no attempt to notify me that this was happening. I only found out when I received my card statement. Terrible and unacceptable customer service if you ask me!

Despite all this a month later I needed to hire a car again and thought I'll give them another chance as they had the cheapest price I found for the vehicle I was after. Day before they attempted to call me once but left no message. I tried to call back but there was no answer so I just assumed it was a courtesy call to remind me of the booking tomorrow. I had then arrived at the branch on the day of my booking with my wife and 2 children aged 3 years and 5 months only to be told the car I booked was not available and that they did try to call me to inform me. They then offered me an upgrade for the same price but all the cars were 2 door cars which I couldn't take because of my children and their child seats. The only 4 door car which were available were down grades which I was willing to take but they said I wouldn't receive any money back even though the car I booked was more expensive! I just could not understand this and decided not to take any car and get a full refund. Extremely disappointed with the service I received here on 2 occasions, I doubt I'll book with this branch again!
