Hertz - Welwyn Garden City - 23 Broadwater Road

Terrible - I hire a van from them and arrange a collection for Saturday morning for 10:30 - no one bothers to turn up nor tell me they are not coming. I have to start ringing around to find out that they will be attending on Monday between 9-4. I actually have a job so will not be around so I am told I have to make it available which I had done on the time BOOKED! I'm then told to leave the keys but I clearly want to make sure I go over the van with the driver before they try and tell me there is damage which I clearly have not done!!
I am then told by Imran I will be charged for it not being collected!! This is horrendous I will not be paying for a complete mess up from your company!! I book a collection slot when I am around and not working I am not taking a day off because you couldn't collect when you were meant too.

Very helpful staff - went out of their way to get me the vehicle I needed at short notice. Prices are competitive too, highly recommended. There is parking available at the front if you need to leave your personal car overnight

They didn’t disclose the price for refueling, which is 3 times the normal price of a litre. I had to rush to a petrol station to refill and remove the charge
They charged me 300 pounds for 2 cm dent and they admitted they will not repair the damage. I have no evidence that the dent was there before driving the car. It’s basically a money scam.
They need to be more transparent with their charges and they should take photos before handing over the car.
I will never again return to Hertz UK.

Arrive to pick up car given keys walk outside and notice car is not clean open door and inside is also dirty .I go to complain and they quickly valet car when they bring it back over I look around it and find one of the tyres has very low tyre tread although it was border line on illegal it would have definitely been a mot advisory ! Not what you expect from a large company like hertz after a long battle they allocate me another vechile I'm now an hour late very poor service

Be extremely careful with Hertz, when they try to offer you the extra addons and they tell you how much it costs, they don't bill you now, they bill you at the end of the lease. So you don't end up with fines, use the Waze GPS, very useful.

Would recommend and use again and stay clear of another Car rental company who let me down at the last minute!

Booked car online and guess what..arrive to pick up my car from welwyn garden city and there are no cars to hire they are none the wiser about my booking. Really screwed my week. Thanks Hertz! Will never hire from you again. Still waiting for my refund.
