Was gonna do a long winded review but decided to try and shorten.

We started off going to North Terminal as I thought we were supposed to. I misread and we were supposed to pickup for South Terminal. Lady started of snarky as she was stressed trying to find key for a vehicle that had been left the day before. She offered to take booking if we waited a few minutes which we did. I apologized since I made error in pickup and since I wasn't snarky to her in any form she lightened up and by the end of having our reservation sorted she was smiling and polite. I didn't take her snarkiness personally which I guess helped in the end as she was stressed about the key. In the end we went over paperwork etc and she gave us the keys for a Hybrid which we totally weren't expecting. Was lovely to drive. When we returned car to South Terminal the same agent we saw at North Terminal was there and asked if we enjoyed the car which we did. Had no problems dropping off, except trying to get a spot but it got sorted. No unexpected charges and the lady and I had a good laugh about the key that had gone missing at the other location. I would definitely recommend hiring from Hertz at Gatwick and would hire from them again when we eventually go back.

Just remember in any situation, if someone is cranky or rude, don't take it personally as more than likely they are stressed or concerned about something. We are all human and have bad moments and bad days. If you show compassion and patience people will usually lighten up

Just an early morning key drop off so no bells and whistles BUT if you've got a lot of luggage, pray that there are trolleys on the stand otherwise its a 4 min walk to terminal to get one, them obviously 4 mins back, and again the struggle back to Terminal this time with luggage. But receipt emailed before take off so all good!

Rented from London Gatwick North tower, returned a week later. Staff was very friendly and helpful on departure. On return, like a fool I left my glasses in the car. The chap working in the North Tower at Gatwick on New Year's Eve was incredibly helpful, my glasses retrieved. Please send my thanks and give him a huge high five, this is what customer service is all about !!!!

Terrible! Worst service representative ever Maria takes the cake! We had already paid for the vehicle but were required to put a deposit for the gas.
Maria claimed my credit card was compromised which was not at all true. She wouldn't let us speak to a manager or let us try my wives credit card.
We couldn't reason with her she was insane!! Finally the rep from the Sixt closed his station and walked us to the South Terminal Hertz we were give a car 10 minutes later no problem with our card.
Maria is a nasty piece of work who must be a very unhappy person!

Herrtz Club member. Rented a car for a week. Upon return at 830 am no one at site to check in car. Left keys in drop box. Got an email later about a small scratch on a hub cap. Charge 145 pounds!! In the 50 years I have rented cars I have NEVER had a claim against me. Suspect they leave the return area vacant so they can do this to other renters. Can assure you I will NEVER use them again. Rip off artists!!

Turned out to be an expensive car hire with all the add ons. Needed to come back early but the phone line to Hertz was never answered. Needed to drop car off at a different airport. Never again.

To reply to the Hertz response, i am not interested in a facebook messenger chat with someone, I have gone down this route many times before with no success. I would like to speak to branch management directly**UPDATE: Hertz are now pursuing legal action for the funds my credit card company successfully recovered. I've been told by Hertz this is a result of Hertz Gatwick North's insistence I made a phone call to the AA for recovery services.
To the management at Hertz Gatwick North: please stop this aggression and admit you made a mistake - your system's phone records will clearly show I didn't make the alleged call for recovery services. This is madness and you are inflicting an incredible amount of stress onto an innocent consumer. You follow up on other negative reviews, but not on mine - is that because you know you are in the wrong?**

They added a charge for an AA callout to my rental for a damaged tyre. This simply did not happen during the rental - I did not call the AA and there were no issues at all with the vehicle during my rental. I talked to them several times on the phone and they advised me to go through customer service. I've sent several emails to customer service with no reply and every time I phone all they say is 'it has been escalated and is being looked into' etc etc. I raised the case over 6 weeks ago and am no nearer getting my money back. I tried phoning this branch several times today to give them one last chance to resolve the issue directly (since the branch were the ones who added the charge) and admit they made a mistake. No answer - I've lost my patience and I've began the process of reporting credit card fraud. Thanks guys, I was a long time renter with Hertz and gave all my business to Hertz for rentals totaling many months each year. Guess you don't want my business anymore and don't care? - I've been more than reasonable with giving you time to fix the issue but nobody is interested in helping.

I had incorrect information on my booking reference to attend the north Terminal for a car pick up. I had difficulty talking to anyone who worked for Hertz. When I did hear from them they told me that the North Terminal branch had been closed and that I would need to travel to the south terminal. This was after a significant number of calls from me across the two days prior without being able to speak to anyone...
