Hertz - Oxford - Osney Mead

Everything went well.
I chose Hertz despite the mixed reviews because the other companies in Oxford have really bad reviews. Was concerned about the rental I made through a third party (Expedia) because the Hertz web site couldn't handle return on Sunday (redirected me to a Hertz 24/7 web site that flat out didn't work). Everything turned out well: Car was waiting, people were nice, car was all I needed, unattended return worked fine. When I need a car in Oxford again these are the people I'll try first.

I rented from Hertz for 3 years on a long term basis. I earned thousands of points and reached the "President's Circle" status. I then bought a car and didn't need to rent a car anymore. 18 months later all my points that I earned were wiped out. I'd hoped to use them one day after the COVID travel restrictions were lifted. I DID NOT receive any notification for their expiry. I did not check my account since I couldn't use them during that period.
I wrote to Hertz , they said it's my fault that I didn't use them in the previous 18 months. So, I wrote again and explained the reasons and said that at least they should've sent me a notification. They ignored me and refused to reply to my email.

Checkin was efficient and friendly.
The team were very helpful and the car was clean and ready to go.
Would definitely recommend Hertz in Oxford for car/van rentals.

I got a brand new car for 2 days, Hertz Stuffs are very friendly and helpful to assist me getting a auto car.The price were reasonable,no hidden price. Very good service!

Headaches. That's all this place causes. Quietly billed an additional £100 to my credit card without providing documentation a month after renting a car from them. Then upon documentation they show the car wasn't returned on time and instead was returned 2 days late although I have the documentation proving I returned the car on time. When trying to call the office the phone just rings and rings. Took me 3 days of trying to finally get someone on the phone. Don't recommend and not sure how they are still in business by the some of the fraudulent behaviour they are doing to customers.

Would put 0 if I could. Their employee “Costas” needs to be sacked. Unknowingly took over £480 from my account when I was told £197 would be taken as a deposit. Refusing to give my money back, and told me to “stop being such a drama queen”! Will never use them and will advise everyone to avoid them like the plague. Asked him to get his Area Manager to call me so I could make a formal complaint and he refused.

As always with Hertz, great customer experience. Easy and fast pickup and even easier return. I delivered the car 2 hours later than expected and they did not charge me because I had a hard time fueling up the tank before delivery.

Hertz Osney Mead is on an industrial estate on the outskirts of Oxford. Was unable to book online so walked in and booked.

Hired a Yaris (hybrid) and was impressed with the car's performance, economic petrol consumption, and ease of use. This rental did not come with GPS.

Cost for four days hire, full-to-full, unlimited mileage, and without extra insurance, GPS etc., was £265.

Dropped a star because the online booking experience was frustrating. The only reason I made an extra effort was because Hertz Osney Mead was recommended to me.

The office could do with sprucing but the process to hire and return the car was fast and efficient. Happy customer.
