Poor customer service from a rude bloke sat behind a computer. Booking was changed without my knowledge to the following day I then got told that I may not even get a car despite it being already booked. Told if I wanted to cancel the booking I'd have to ring up as the bloke in the pickup centre couldn't, more like couldn't be bothered, to do it. Ring the number, guy on the phone tells me he can't do it either and to speak to the centre or select different option. Ring alternative option it just rings and rings and rings. Cheapest option I found online and now I see why. I highly recommend everyone avoids using this cowboy of a company.

To be fair most of the times that I have booked with Europcar the service has been fair to good. The cars have without exception all been delivered on time, the choice of equivalent car is sometimes questionable and collection of the rarely as prompt as delivery - but on the whole it has been acceptable.

However, when trying to arrange delivery for 27th December that is a different matter - whilst I appreciate that the days before are bank holidays or Sundays to tell me that a 6am delivery isn't possible and that it would be 10am doesn't meet my Business needs - and I find that very poor, especially as their records would show the frequency that I have been booking and the indifference that I received on the phone tells me that customer care is a concept that has yet to reach Europcar.

My father had a car from here as a courtesy car via Nissan.
The only time he drove was back to the Nissan dealer to collect his car. Over a week later he has a letter telling him he had damaged the car, not only on the outside but in the boot which he never even opened. They charged him over £700.00 which they had already taken from his account.
Even though he had dropped the car off on the Friday it was not collected until the following Monday from the main dealer but Europcar said he was still liable for any damage up to 6 hours after dropping it back. Neither Europcar or the Nissan dealers are interested in how this happened so I think our only option will be to take this as far as we can through the courts.

Turned up to no car, told to wait 45 minutes, asked again, told another hour. Still waiting.....don't care and very unhelpful attitude from manager. One of the lovely valets has taken pity on me and made me tea as I am stranded on an industrial estate in Wellingborough...If I had a choice I'd have walked away....

Update: A car eventually arrived 4 1/2 ,hours later.

Hiring the van was no trouble and the staff were polite and efficient. However I paid for collection which was less successful. The staff failed to collect the van when specified on the booking, which led to several attempts where they either didn't bother to turn up as arranged or arrived early or late then immediately left. The mobile number used was off and the office was contactable. When I queried if i'd be charged for this - I was told no. This was however not true as I was billed several days later for an extra day rental and failed collection charge which I am still trying to recover. The complaints process is shocking and the staff on the customer services line are unhelpful.

As such cannot recommend using the collection service as it turned out to cost £70+ and an undue amount of stress for something supposed to improve the experience.

My husband recently enquired the price of a van for the bank holiday weekend and twice was given the same price. On visiting the branch to book the vehicle this week was told that the price had gone up by around 30%, when my husband questioned this, the employee, who had not bothered to get of his chair and come to the counter, just replied "prices go up" but made no effort to explain further. Feeling extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service received my husband went to the local Enterprise branch where he was able to book a vehicle for less than the original Europcar price, with a much better level of customer service. Europcar will not get any business from us in future, and we will tell others about our poor experience.

Very poor service, picked car up from Luton Airport in the dark, looked around the car the next morning every panel on the car was damaged and no parcel shelf. I paid double for car to be taken back to Wellingborough, I received an email saying it's to be taken back to Luton Airport, which I ignored. When i took it back to Wellingborough office they weren't aware the car was coming back to them. Considering i have paid a lot of money on two cars over six weeks , no apology and no compensation for poor service.

Had to hire a car twice. Both times for a week. Great price and friendly service how ever both times never got the car I had hired on online.
First time was charged to upgrade. Second time not. But for the price can't complain to much
