If you struggle walking or need assistance, may be worth avoiding this iconic local landmark.
Interesting and historic ruins of a Norman castle dating back around 1,000 years. A few plaques dotted around its location giving brief details of the history of previous occupants. Apart from a few ruins there's not a lot to see, but nice to be in a place of such historic value.
The small Chapel below is also worth calling into, but again, not easy walking around due to the unevenness of the pathway.
Free parking in the village at the bottom of the hill / castle location, I wouldn't recommend parking on the road as I saw some near misses as vans passed nearly taking out wing mirrors !!

This is my first visit to Bramber Castle in many years. I'd forgotten how big an area it occupies and the splendid views, between the trees, across the South Downs. We parked in the village car park then walked to the castle ruins along the High Street and up the path in front of the church. A small number of information boards tell you about the history of the castle as you explore the site. Well worth a visit.

Only the remnants of a ruined tower is left in this norman castle so you just gotta use ypur imagination for the rest of the castle. Nice cycle path from shoreham on sea makes it accessible for visitors on bikes.

One of Sussex's gems. The grounds of the Norman Castle are well kept and easy to imagine the place back in time. Stop and have a picnic or simply walk round the perimeter and take in the view. The only criticism is the entrance to the car park as the holes can ground your car!

It's a free site, with quite a few information boards, so you can't complain. There is very little left of this castle though, only a few small sections of wall, a small part of a tower and one tall section at the front of the site. Worth a little stroll, it is in a nice location.

A beautiful and interesting castle to visit. There are various sections of wall spread out with information boards telling you about the rich history of the castle. Lovely little village too with beautiful historic buildings.

Great to wander around this area. The "Castle" is a considerable ruin with only a few pieces of wall to see, having said that our kids had plenty of questions and imagination to how the full structure could have looked.
We took a walk around the base of the moat, which has some steep sections. Also explored the nearby river walk.
