Gourmet House Takeaway (Order Online)

Simply cannot understand the one-star reviews for Gourmet House, they’re simply one of the best Chinese takeaway joints in Numpty.

The food is always fresh - even the rice and noodles - and their pastry items are always crisp, and tender inside. We often find they deliver a little early - not always a bad thing - and have never had a bad meal. Can’t say the same of a dozen other Chinese places in Northampton, we were beginning to despair until we found GH!

Food delicious as usual. My partner tried the Thai green gourmet special which was exceptional. He was ver impressed. Only let down was the time to took to deliver. We waited an hour and half. So food wasn't piping hot as it could have been.

Ordered food one meal missing, when I called up the lady insisted it had left also chicken looked grey thought there was mushrooms in the fried rice! Then when I said it's ok don't worry about it she said driver is in the way with your meal and next time we won't do this again! I was about to say hopefully the mistake won't happen again but she hung up on me, the attitude I was given on the phone after a £30 order was crazy and made me think I can't trust the meal on the way! Should have saved the delivery man a journey and listened to your customer you would have had a better review and saved the delivery man coming out! Bad attitude

New to Northampton and trying all of the takeaways over time to work out which ones are worth repeat business.

This is the third time ordering from Gourmet House (over the last 3 months too) and every time the food has been absolutely top notch.

Not too greasy, flavoured to perfection, not waking up at 3am massively dehydrated from too much MSG, this is seriously one of the best Take Aways I've encountered in the last 10 years or more.

The satay is delicious, the sweet and sour balls have a crunchy batter without being stodgy, and the ribs fall off of the bone.

The one big disappointment is that there are no regular spring rolls which are usually one of my staples to munch on as I'm dishing everything else up.

Best Chinese around! The Singaporean fried noodles are one of the tastiest I’ve ever tasted. Not soggy, generous with prawns and really flavoursome. I would highly recommend trying the chicken spring rolls, gyoza dumplings, the Chinese curry and the awesome tangy lemon chicken…. oh, and the lists go on! Truly authentic taste ( or as close as I can get back home :)

False advertising for the duck pancakes. Absolutely abysmal chips that taste like the oil hasn’t been changed in about 6 years. Lamb in honey and spring onions… well if there was a spoonful of anything in there you would be lucky!

Absolutely appalling customer service the manager has a negative attitude especially when we pointed out their false advertising, will never ever come back to these rip off merchants ever again. Disgusting food and service, the only person who was nice was the driver.

Have ordered food from here approx 6 times now and every time the food is delicious! Usually delivered before the expected time. Food always looks freshly cooked. I would highly recommend the Crispy King Prawns in Tamarind Sauce, lovely. So nice am ordering again. Thought I would give a review considering the poor rating this takeaway doesn't deserve as I have never been disappointed. (8 times now and still the same, delicious and still arrives earlier than expected.)

Have been using this place for years. Mostly its been good. But last Friday I had a chicken and beef curry. Sadly it was very dissapointing. The rice was really dry and the beef was so chewy and the chicken tasted stale
