Matalan

Very rude staff!!! This place does not deserve even 1 star. I had parking ticket from the previous day for 2 pounds and was buying a stand. Of course wanted to deduct the money for the parking from the stand. However the sales attendant told me they don't have such practice. Even though I ask a guy the same day earlier and he said that's ok. I asked the sales attendant to double check with her supervisor or manager and when she came she started speaking So Loud like I had to feel embarrassed for asking for my money, that the lady on the cashier next to me started turning her head and looking t me what's going on and what's the big fuss about it. Then the So called "manager" forced me to give the parking ticket for donation. Did I have to tell her she is rude on the spot, and complain from her...probably YES! But I decided to let it go. Since that time I wouldn't go and buy anything from that LOW LEVEL place. I am grateful I am shopping now where I am really appreciated.

First time at this store and was pleasantly surprised. Found some amazing items here at very reasonable prices. Staff a little distant and hard to find someone to help you. Parking refunded if you shop here so that was a nice surprise.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful and the items were great value for money. However I was shopping for boxers and loads of the packs had pairs missing e.g. should have been a 3 pack but there was only 2 pairs there. Some had been marked down to reflect this some had not. Generally the male underwear section was quite messy and disorganised which is a bit irritating. Thanks.

Good to shop basic necessities from clothes to kitchen to bathroom to home essentials. Good quality products, comparable to similar superstore products. Was excited to also find many items made of leather less expensive and made in India. 😊
Recommend visit to this place even though it's slightly away from high street.

There's never any workers around. Can't get along with the tills. Wrong sizes on hangers. Shoes all over the place. Changing rooms are only downstairs. No mirrors upstairs

The worker upstairs has no personality, I was greeted to negativity as soon as I walked into this store. My disabled wife couldn't find the elevator, no signs in sight. Having to pay cash upstairs only is disrespectful to disabled people. Rubbish place to shop!

Arrogant staff. Really messy. Told to pay by cash upstairs only, and the lady did not remove my security tag. Only one exit door. Too many reasons not to shop here again.

I thought I would take a look at new store at Gallagher centre as have not been there yet. I usually love to look round Matalan but this store has gone down hill. The staff didn't seem friendly, it has lost its personal, friendly touch in my opinion. Not a fan of self service and having to carry my heavy basket up the stairs to see household items, could not see a lift. They did not have a lot of clothes to choose from like they usually have. I much preferred the old Matalan. It did not feel nice and relaxed I didn't enjoyy visit, the store looked messy and untidy. I will not be going there again which is sad as I used to really like Matalan. Bring back the old Matalan.
