Variety Silk House

At first glance this is a very nice looking shop with helpful staff. We paid a very large amount of money for outfits for a wedding. We found a nice outfit for the groom and best man and we paid for them to be 'made to measure'. The outfit was not delivered on time. We had to chase for weeks for them to deliver it to us. In the end, the best man's headdress was too tight to wear and the grooms outfit did not fit. Because it had all been delivered late, we had no choice but to have the grooms mother make alterations just before the wedding.

If you find what you want in here, buy it. Don't order anything to be made to your size. It might not arrive on time, it might not fit as well as they had promised, and don't expect an apology.

A complete waste of time or money. Maybe this was just a one-off mistake, but we will not be returning,

Ever since I first set foot in at Variety Silks over 23 years ago, I haven't found anything quite like the collection anywhere else. The saris and outfits are unique and made to a very high standard. Above all, the customer service is simply the best. Some of the staff have been there for a very long time and their knowledge and helpfulness is highly commendable. Thank you very much for making every occasion of ours such an elegant one.

Anita and the sales ladies get a full 5 star from me- id give them 6 stars out of 5 if i could. They stayed open late for me, they were so flexible with my sizings, so helpful and honest with their feedback- not pushy at all! In fact I love their service so much, i may not go to India for wedding shopping and buy the rest of my outfits from here! Unique pieces, great quality and service. Thank you so much, this will be the only place i shop from now on! Xx

While some of the sales staff is helpful, management here is incredibly poor. We spent nearly £1000 on two outfits, and needed tailoring on one of the outfits. One outfit was not up to par, and similar to other reviewers, we ran across a return policy we had never been informed about. We had to send back the tailored outfit for being very poorly done. When it finally came back, even after all the money we had spent, the shop still felt it necessary to nickel and dime me. When I went to pick up the tailored outfit, it was not complete. They told me it would be finished in 2 hours and that I should leave my clothes bag with them so they can hang my outfit. Upon my return, they had "lost" my nice clothes bag and insisted on me leaving with a significantly cheaper bag. Apparently even spending £1000 is not enough to keep them from taking another £10 worth of bag from you. Would never recommend this to anyone.

I collected my lengha outfit yesterday (Saturday 10th October 2020), after choosing this in March, before the lockdown. I have to say that when I visited in March the service was excellent and when returning to collect the altered lengha, again the service was excellent. I have to say I received points from the two lengha's I purchased in March. This time I bought bangles worth £90, but with the points I only paid £15.00

Thank you Variety Silk House for a great service from your staff, although I'm not purchasing at the moment due to weddings being cancelled, should I need anything in the future, I will be returning as VSH has excellent and the latest designs which are amazing.

Well done to all the staff, for being helpful, polite and also respected customers space due to Covid.

Absolutely terrible service a bunch of clueless non helping staff. I went to the Ealing road branch last week with a style in mind. I went into the store and there was at least 15 members of staff all just staring blank faced at me. I had to approach one of these women who were staring not asking if they could be of any assistance and ask for help. I asked for a indo western style suit to which the women laughed she then pointed at a rack in the shelf and said this is all we have in your size. She did not even show the items just simply pointed and casually walked away. Terrible people skills and at the price of the outfits one would be more inclined to pay that premium price if the customer service was right but you guys failed missrebably here. Think your staff need to go through some training and understand what real customer service should be.

Long story short I went to another store opposite they took out various different styles and showed options when I mentioned the size they said the right thing any size can be sourced. Based on the vast difference in customer service I purchased my suits from there so would avoid this place at all costs there cheaper places right opposite who will be much willing to help you and not just stare.

Biggest con, bought a sari on 5th Feb 2022 , cost £645, and it’s the poorest quality ever. A white chair in wedding Turn into aqua green, which was the original colour of the sari. I want to check if that is really from my sari , took it to fry cleaner , they said not good idea to dry clean hand wash is the best for delicate items like this , I did a quick wash and it turn into dark green and stink to 3.5 meter . What a joke. We all like to make money but not conning this way . I think never again

Unbelievable... my wife really loved a Lehenga in the showcase on a mannequin, but staff wouldn't even let us try it (and potentially buy it) and told us to come back 2 weeks later when they will change the mannequin. The first time I saw this. I'm not sure how you run a business with this type of service.
