Always loved this place. Just a big natural space full of wildlife. No toilets, no cafés, no campsite, just you and your walking boots. Path can be uneven and slippy and boggy in places so bring appropriate clothes, even if it hasn't rained in a few days there will be muddy bits there.

Oh my gosh!!! This place is a-maz-ing!!! Firstly Google does take you to a dead end road but if you have a look at satellite view you'll see that there are few entrances via some of the other roads so very easy to find. This woodland is massive. We spent about three hours here and we didn't even manage to see it all or walk everywhere, so definitely going back. The woodland has some steep parts and at places it is very muddy so walking boots or wellies are a must. However it does make up for this by just being a wonderful place to chill , have a picnic, take the children out, cycle, maybe do some photography or just to gather your thoughts. Towards the middle there's a stream and at places it does get deep (about a metre or so). As the woodland is not dense you can adventure off the trails and just "get lost". At the top of the woodland, as you walk in, you'll notice tire tracks so people do go by bikes and motorbikes here but this is only at the top trail. At the bottom trail there are horse riders so please bare this in mind when walking your pooches 😇

Great place for a walk, whether you want an easy route from Brimington to Inkersall, or a more challenging walk through to Ringwood. Lots of local wildlife to be seen (Squirrels and Birds etc.), great in the spring for the Bluebells that abound in the woods.
