We are so happy this shop is still here as we thought we lost it after the young couple bought the shop from original owner and they completely ruined it in short time they owned it. However recently another young couple bought the shop and now is the best we have seen it and they do very good quality products at very competitive prices,
They expanded all the range across the shop and they do key cutting very cheap .
I wish I could leave a positive review as the items they sell are wide ranging and it appears to o be a great store to visit.
However... I have been given the runaround 3 times now on when some watch batteries could be replaced.
Went in on a Tuesday with my elderly mother-in-law for 4 watches to have replacement batteries fitted. On this occasion I was informed that 'the man' who does the batteries wouldn't be in until the following Monday.
Ok, it's only a 6 mile round trip, no problem we'll call in then.
The following Monday we went back. "Oh no, sorry, he's on leave with it being half term but should be back next week, you were misinformed last week."
So, annoyed with another wasted trip, (12 miles to this point) the watches were left this time as I was assured they would be available to collect by the following Monday.
I said I'd be in on the Wednesday, extra couple of days for them to sort it. That's today.
Well, on entering I spoke with one of the 2 women present who went off to look for the watches. She returned a few minutes later with them. I said as she handed me the bag, I'll just check they're all working- One was ticking sometimes, the other 3 completely lifeless. On asking if they'd actually been replaced neither woman could confirm this but although it was clear to me they hadn't, I was not allowed to leave because one of them was ticking. I said if they'd been replaced he'd have done them all, not 1 and I know the watches are functional when batteries are live.
Clearly they felt I was trying to leave with the items and not pay!🤷🏻♀️
So, she did then say, Darius isn't in today I'll call him and ask if these have been done.
Long and short, apparently he was unaware of these watches, despite them being in a bag, labelled and in the possession of the shop for the last 10 days.
Needless to say I told them I would take them elsewhere. 18 miles of wasted journeys over 3 weeks!
My mother-in-law reckoned she'd always taken them here but I've since read that ownership has changed.
It seems to me that internal communication is a bit of a problem and when is Darius actually available because I've been in on a Tuesday, Monday and then a Wednesday over 3 different weeks?!
I suggest if you can't provide a service, remove it from the options available to customers. Save us the hassle of wasted trips and your business appearing unreliable and incompetent.
