I sent a message through the website yesterday evening as didn't have time to wait on the phone for ages, explained my menopausal symptoms. The doctor rang me today and she was lovely and very helpful and understanding, she asked me some questions, checked my medical records and went through all the pros and cons of medication, I had been struggling for quite some time and was pleased to be prescribed hrt, I didn't have to fight for it like I was expecting, I had heard many stories from other women on how negative their experience had been. I know this practice has a lot of bad reviews but on this occasion my experience was good, thank you Dr Claire Cooper, for explaining everything so well and giving me a chance to get my life back on track, you were so kind.

I’ve not had a great experience with this surgery. En you phone you’re number 28 in the queue. After a long wait, sometimes you get cut off and no one bothers to phone back and you have to go through the painful exercise again to talk to someone.

Once a referral needed to be sent to another department in NHS. After a lot of pingponging of phone calls the surgery staff didn’t send the referral after all which caused further delay. Staff said they will ring me with update. Never did.

Creffield doesn’t give a toss about special needs children either. My son, who has difficulty in communicating, was in a lot of pain. Staff just shrugged and said there’s no availability on the day and we have to phone 111 to get help (it took up most of our day having to sit at A & E for something that have taken 15 minutes to deal with). It’s infuriating. Avoid this surgery if you can.

Slightly unusual surgery in that the administrative and support staff I’ve found very friendly and helpful. The paramedics are great. The surgery is obviously oversubscribed. You can call at 8am and be caller number 50 or often not even get in the queue at all, it just tells you to try again some other time, which really works when you’re ill. But the main problem is the actual doctors. One or two very good ones, for which I’m grateful, but, particularly recently, I’ve not been impressed - partly, by bedside manners. Not particularly friendly, constantly interrupt which gets stressful when you’re trying to be economic with information as it is, and just a lack of interest in assisting you. Sure, fine, we all have had bad days, we know how stressful the last few years have been for medical staff and I’m very respectful of what they do. But one didn’t even check for medicine contraindications, which could have been disastrous for me had I not, on instinct, double checked myself and not taken the prescription. Perhaps I was just spoiled by my previous surgery being excellent.

This surgery is amazing I called today about an enquiry that affected another family member and when I called I got Sue on reception, I told her my problem and she went above and beyond, initially she couldn't help me with my query but directed me to the source. While on the phone my landlines went and it was Sue informing me she had found the solution and I could pick up a copy. I cannot thank Sue enough and the front desk receptionists.

Craggy island for doctors...
They misdiagnosed me with osteoarthritis (I had to argue with them to get them to see that it was highly unlikely in a 37 year-old) and when I went in with a torn quadricep they told me to walk it off. It took me 8 weeks of not recovering for me to work out what was wrong by which time it was too late to have surgery to fix it.
They don't even know how to fill out forms; I once got referred to the hospital and the doctor wrote the "reason for referral" on the form as "diagnosis" - so when I got there the hospital had no idea what I was there for!
I recommend you go somewhere else or, if you cannot, challenge any diagnosis that does not feel right to you. Do not take them on face value and if you are still in doubt - get a second opinion.

the worst Surgery ever! Rude reception staff (loud, lacking knowledge of their job (as i have received wrong advice before from them) and very unprofessional in dealing with clients) no way of booking appointments ahead apart from calling at 8 am for appointments in the same day..and usuall all appointments are taken by that time...blaming Covid is not an excuse for such unprofessional approach.. my husband was waiting for a referral that a request has been sent on 5 october but i have discovered after 25 days from the request that the surgery has not done its job as usual!! if we are paying the government for such NHS service, i prefer to go private instead of dealing with such ***** ! also i forgot to say that when you call asking for an appointment, we will get interegotated with the nosy rude receptionist about the problem as if she is a doctor herself! I asked for an appointment with the doctor and he/she can decide later what shall i do!!

rude and dismissive member of staff on reception..now in my eighties visited my calvary road surgery exact time14 25pm 10/oct/2022 .signed in number and car details .I was somewhat unsure if the screen had registered the car details so i asked a member of the staff if she would be good enough to check i had actually registered. .remember the time was exactly 14.25.pm 10/oct .2022 ..the person i asked was a lady in a blue nurse overall who had stepped out of the reception office area approx 5 ft of light build. To my shock horror she said dont you realise we now have 4,000 patients registered here and i have not got time to deal with you she was offensive and rude to such an extent i have never encountered such abuse ever at this normally wonderful surgery . I told her i would need to activate a formal complaint through the practices procedures as her actions and manner were intolerable . I then gave her my full name and title so that she clearly would know i was the complainant . i then asked her for her name and title she scoffed and said i dont give my name to anyone so i said thats fine then just let me have an identifiable reference number for you as i need to log those details on my complaint . again she scoffed and refused to give me any of her details as clearly she did not want to be identified . however from these exact date times and details i have given the surgery will be able to identify exactly who this person is as she was adamant she was going to ensure i never had any details to enable me to pursue this complaint about her behaviour . i am disgusted by this whole affair as i think it is paramount to treat ALL staff in a respectful and polite manner . however i expect others to reciprocate as i have always done so. all staff should always be identifiable just as patients are I have been a patient at this creffield road surgery for seventy years since the age of 11 and have never encountered such abuse .so i do speak from experience

Absolutely shocking! Impossible to get an appointment, you have a 5 minute window at 8am, but at 1 second past eight you are 60th in the queue and 2 hours later once you get through, there's no appointments left. and you just get shouted at by a person who doesnt speak english or understand what you want. 8 days in a row now, totally hopeless. In so much pain I'm tempted to just end it at this point and leave a nice letter telling everyone exactly who's fault it is. Yep, Creffield medical center.
