it would be un-economical to repair but leave it with him, less than one hour later he advised me that he had found a new meter unit in stock and offered it to me at a really sensible price Ordered yesterday - delivered today!!. Absolutely unbeatable first class service - thank you very much
Nevada,
As always, the staff member who served me was polite and friendly and has good knowledge of their stock and how it works.
An excellent radio shop (really two in one as it also hosts Waters and Stanton) and there are often tempting things in the showcases.
On two separate occasions I have been let down by your store.
Both occasions have been as a result of taking payment for stock you don't actually have 'in stock' this is not good enough and is it legal to take payment for 'stock you don't actually have???' this I intend to find out. On the first occasion, I ordered a £300 ATU and sales confirmation come through and I was expecting delivery within the aggreed time. However it then transpires nevada comns never actually had the item in stock and surprise surprise no one contacted me to advise me on the error. I eventually had to call cust servs myself and was told they had not had this item in stock for sometime. As such alternative arrangements where made. I let that occasion slip because I have used nevada comns since the early 90s and believed it to be software input issues. Well here we go again, I ordered a amplifier from nevada at the weekend via their click and collect. At 3pm on the Monday I went to collect my purchase at about 3 pm but was told, they don't have the item in stock. I was told my card would be reemburst within the prescribed period, again I had not been called all day to advise me of the issue. Due to being in a high pressured job I had not got time to hang about at the store any longer. I called the store in arrival back at my station and spoke to the lady on customer services. She told me a similar excuse regarding failings due to human error. I was also told by this lady that my card had not been deducted of the amount of the value of the amp purchased and would not be until the amp was dispatched from their warehouse. ewell tonight I have checked my card account and discovered that you nevada comns have taken payment for something you don't have in stock. This is unacceptable especially when your customer service person tells me the other. You have failed again, and this time I'm afraid enough is enough. Let me tell, human error in my line of work could land me in serious trouble. Your human error seems to continue with no scope for improvement. This is also unacceptable and I do not intend to let the matter drop. I will also add that I recently purchased a MFJ-1794 antenna from you and found a small number of parts missing. I decided to work around the issue and still site the antenna. So I'm telling you about that now. I'm not happy at all with your sales methods or customer services. I would never recommend anyone to purchase from you again, and would warn any other potential customers to try Martin Lynch and Sons, Moonraker comns or Radio world before cimi g to nevada communications. I'm sorry if this is a little long winded everyone, but I've had enough of bad customer service. I'll be on the phone to you again tomorrow nevada, looking for an answer to your false information.

Update: did I receive a apology from Nevda "No" did Nevada try to defend themselves, by explaining why these issues arise "No" all told nevada coms, you couldn't care less.
I bought a second hand Icom 7600 from Nevada for £1200 several months ago. The radio arrived and upon opening I discovered it had been damaged in transit. The VFO knob had come adrift along with two of the rubber feet on the bottom and side of the radio. There was also clear damage to both boxes. On testing the radio I discovered there was a lot of play in the vfo encoder, the vox feature was not working and a push button conformation beep was not working. I contacted Nevada and they arranged collection for repair. After a week I emailed them enquiring about the radio only to be told my 7610 had arrived and no faults could be found and the radio was totally serviceable!!!. I explained that my radio was an Icom 7600 with visible faults and they must be confusing my radio with someone elses. Silence for a week. After sending another email I was then told my 7600 was not financially viable to repair and a refund was to be made. In the mean time I spotted my 7600 back on their website for sale without a mention of any faults! After phoning I was told there was some confusion and the radio was taken down for sale. Two weeks past with no sign of a refund or my radio and once again I emailed asking about my refund only to be told (oh We have been trying to contact you!) and that my radio had been partially repaired. I certainty did not receive any emails, phone calls or post so maybe they tried 40 meters but since I didn't have a radio I couldn't receive any communications. They advised the radio was repaired apart from the vfo play which apparently is a common fault however there is a easy mod you can do to fix the problem so I agreed to take the radio back. I then received an email confirming once the radio had been returned to them as they had outsourced it for repair they would make arrangements for its return to me. Nine days later.. Nothing.. so once again I enquired after my radio only to be told that they were under the impression I didn't want the radio back and that the refund process had started!
Once again I explained I was happy to take the radio and had already noticed it back on their website for sale again without any mention of faults!! This total process from start to finish has taken over 7 weeks between myself, the Nevada receptionist, Mr Stephen Bunting and Mr Glyn Dodwell. It is my opinion that non of the above nevada staff communicate between each other to try and resolve any after sales issues. I was left without a radio for this time and confused as to weather I was to receive my radio or a refund. Is it too much to ask these days for some customer satisfaction and a clear path of communication so that the customer knows what's going on.? I will never deal with Nevada again and now I know why its called amateur radio when we have an amateur company such as Nevada failing heavily with after sales...
PS.. The faulty 7600 is still on their website for sale with out any mention of any underlying issues.. Buyer beware. The serial number of the radio is 0401765. I payed £1200 but now they're asking £1300!! Maybe the faults cost more.
PS.. I have just read nevada reply. The only time nevada spoke to me is after I repeatedly had to chase them up about my radio and if they think an eigth of an inch up and down play on a VFO encoder isn't a fault well there's your answer. Disgraceful after sales....
