The Phoenix Inn

This pub is disgraceful. Has a parking company run the car park and unless you give your name into the pub they will fine you for using the car park - even if you're a paying customer. It's hardly Piccadilly Circus around this quiet village so I cant see the merit in such strict enforcement of traffic rules. No mention at the bar to check if you had used their car park either when ordering a drink - most people must walk there it seems.

We visited on the weekend in October 2022 for a Sunday roast. The lamb shank was really well cooked and the meat was falling off the bones and the potatoes were crispy and soft.

The veg however could have used a lot more love. Over cooked carrots and cauliflower in water is not what I want to be served in a pub.

Went for an evening meal whilst visiting the area. Very friendly reception, our dog was well received and given a treat, which always goes down well with him. Food was delivered quickly, hot, well presented and tasty. Service was friendly and quick, nice atmosphere. Reasonably sized car park. Only 10 mins out from Winchester and we will definitely return when visiting in the future. Recommended.

Sunday lunch with hubby - it's been a long time since we were last here however thought it about time we did something different so the Phoenix it was.
So glad we went - the roast chicken was fantastic and hubby had the gammon dish.
The food was delicious and plenty of it
For just over £30 including a drink we couldn't complain at that.
I don't think we will be waiting so long before we go back.

Great pub excellent food, huge range from hot snacks to full meals at a very good price. Recommended

Reserved table and it was the only one free when we arrived. Food was really good and service was OK despite so many customers. Great atmosphere.

Good food, especially the Suet pudding with vegetables, nice friendly service all at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit

Nice pub with good food selection. Friendly staff. Glass barriers on the bar for Covid control.
