I am so disappointed with the service. I waited to get an appointment only for it to be cancelled twice and I still haven't got my eyes tested.
I wanted to use Boots for my eye test as I had used them in a different location.

However, a few days to the test I got a call from Boots to cancel the appointment because the Optician was on holiday (Not the kind of excuse you want to hear). I was understanding as I wasn't in a rush.

It was rescheduled and I had to wait one more week. As I was heading to appointment there was traffic close to the city and I called to alert them straight away instead of telling me that they only give 10 mins waiting time and for me to reschedule. I was left to continue my journey in vain as i was stuck in traffic whilst my appointment was cancelled as I called to update them on the traffic.

Boots was not flexible when It was the other way round. I felt quite upset for wasting my time and fuel (as I live outside the city).

I would not be using or recommending them in the future.
Nicky Lansdale,
Nicky Lansdale,
I visited here two years ago for a new pair of glasses as I couldn't find any frames I liked at my usual opticians, I had my eyes tested, and all seemed well. When I went to pick my glasses up, I couldn't see! So had them re made which were then fine. 18 months later the frames snapped in half, so made another appointment, my eyes were due for a test anyway, my frames had been discontinued so had to go for a completely new pair. Two weeks later, picked them up, and couldn't read (I have vary focals) they couldnt understand why, they put the reading prescription in the eye glasses they test your eyes with, and I still couldnt read, now that tells me the prescription was wrong, but they ignored my opinion, and said it was the prism, so they remade them, two weeks later I picked them up, surprise surprise, I still couldnt read! She asked if i'd like to book an appointment for a re test!! I declined and got a refund.
I understand everyone makes mistakes, but two pairs of glasses wrong!? The man I saw to start with didn't seem to have a clue, ignoring the fact that I couldn't read through my supposed prescription, annoying to say the least.
It has now been 3 months without being able to see properly as I'm using my spares, which are quite old, and I'm back where I started.
Will never use these again and certainly won't recommend.

Used to be good but our last visit was terrible, no communication, first two pairs of glasses were damaged, no one in store noticed so two wasted trips into city centre, three lots of car park, three lots of fuel because of incompetence! Just getting through on the phone is a nitemare and never return calls, for all our troubles they gave a £12 discount! Terrible customer care!

Castle Street branch couldn’t be more helpful. The staff are so attentive and so hard working and conscientious. Just can’t praise the store manager Jenny enough for her endless patience and understanding when you’re choosing new glasses. So professional and so knowledgeable. A real gem of a manager.

I have just had an extremely bad experience at Boots Opticians in Norwich. It has taken me 3 visits to try to claim a pair of varifocal normal glasses plus a pair of varifocal sunglasses. The first visit took 2 hours and I had to leave without completion of the order because our parking ticket was almost expired. I had chosen a pair of normal varifocal glasses but there a problem with the choice of varifocal sunglasses with polaroid lenses. I therefore needed a second visit to choose the sunglasses. There was an offer of 50% reduction in price of the second pair of glasses which we assumed was included when we paid the bill of £452 and that it covered 2 pairs of glasses.
A third visit was needed to collect both pairs of glasses. On arrival I was only presented with one pair of glasses (the sunglasses) and WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO RECORD OF THE PLAIN VARIFOCAL GLASSES WHICH I KNEW I HAD ORDERED. In fact, i paid the bill for the sunglasses only. This meant I was not taking advantage of the deal they had on offer which was a second pair at half price. I now find I have one pair of very expensive sunglasses and no plain glasses having paid over £450 to Boots Opticians. I think they have cheated me. It did not help that I saw three lots of different people each time I visited, so I could not remind them of what had happened. WHY WOULD I ONLY CHOOSE A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES WHEN I WEAR THEM ONLY ABOUT 10% OF THE TIME WHEN I HAD A PERFECTLY USABLE PAIR? WHY WOULD I NOT CHOOSE REGULAR GLASSES WHICH I WEAR MOST OF THE TIME? THE THIRD PERSON I SAW DID NOT THINK THIS WAS UNUSUAL. I will never ever use Boots Opticians again and I have been a regular customer for more than 35 years when they were Dollond & Aitchison.

We visited today for an eye check, and I can say this was the best visit in my few years experience with Boots opticians, from the start we were treated very good , but 2Specialist Pritesh Pandya Mcoptom is the best , the way he treats you and explains everything, I'm so impressed, we will definitely be back and if someone wants to book an appointment for eye check do it with him.

Staff always lovely but availability of appointments is really poor. Only one available for contact lens check was in almost 3 months, that wasn't me saying that any were inconvenient, that was literally the soonest available. Similar thing happened for eye test in Dec. On a contact lens subscription that was suspended until lens check was done so in a bit of a difficult position. No choice but to cancel and go elsewhere. Could get appt at alternative opticians within a week

Used to be really good, have been customers

Manager was quite happy for us to walk.
Never again, don’t waste your time.
