The eye test part of the service was professional and well done however the follow up when collecting my glasses 10 days later was poor.

Having been left to stand around for over 20 minutes waiting with no service the counter staff were then rude an unapologetic when I asked for the glasses as I had to leave.

It's a shame that the shop staff let down the professionals but the overall experience was disappointing so would recommend finding an alternative opticians if feeling valued as a customer is important to you.

I was absolutely appalled by the treatment I received today by Boots Opticians in Bromley. After ringing twice, a woman picked up to answer my query. After explaining to her my problem, she replies 'oh give me a second', making me think great, this is gonna be sorted. But no, she decided to have a little chat with her mate. I was left on that call, waiting for 5 minutes before deciding to call back - don't worry Lloyd, you're a 5 star for me :))))

Had to come back twice after purchasing a pair of glasses, and the waiting time was long every time, although there seem to be many employees around some of them just clustered and chatted. Opticians might be okay technically, but when I tried to ask something on the prescription form what I got was the lady holding on to the forms (with my personal info!?) and “hello? Are you an optician?” . Not very pleasant experience and won’t come back (hopefully I don’t have to be back for another time for not clear glasses).

Arrived at 13:41 for a 13:40 appointment. Waited in their queue for 7 minutes to let them know I had arrived. It was then unfortunately suggested I’m not able to have my full appointment because I was late - they “could see from a mirror round the back”.

On each visit to them I’ve been I’ve been kept waiting for no less than 10-15 minutes but I’ve not complained as this is understandable. The optometrists are excellent, the staff have historically been good too, so it is a shame that this event happened today.

I will be finding another opticians, as I’ve wasted a good hour of my day, had to reorganise my work to make the appointment, and gotten soaked in the rain in my journey to/from the opticians.

Understandably Cry when your teeth are pulled out @ dentist,BUT to be shouted at,angered and made tearful at the boots opticans is VERY LOW.
Never happened in all my years.
Demonised.
Optican refusing to see you because of in house policy, but my contract plan is with Boots not with a particular optican!
Told to "go elsewhere".
Told "Can't help you".
My thoughts - Why are you in this job?
Held my ground, made them do their paid job.

Lacked professionalism,etiquette.

Would you expect this behaviour from healthcare professionals?

Unwarranted behaviour.

Yes, they are completely hopeless but it makes for an interesting visit! I've been coming here for 23 years. This morning on checking in I was asked if this was my first visit!
I arrived 5 minutes early at 09.05. As usual staff were wandering around and having chats in pairs or groups of three. There was plenty of gossip to entertain me. There was very little focus on the work in hand. At 09.17 I was served by a member of staff who had simply been chatting to his colleagues barely 3 metres away from me. I was then taken to the test machines where my eyes were checked. Rather than give me his complete and undivided attention the assistant thought it was appropriate to help other members of staff and leave me waiting with my chin on the machine. Poor. Not the first time.
Back in 2015 I complained to the manager about the dysfunctional service. Nothing has changed. There seems to be a complete absence of management on the shop floor. Bizarre and those who have been working there for a few years should show a bit more leadership.
Can't wait to visit again.

It was cold and draughty. One member of staff was shivering.

Absolutely abominable service. Was completely ignored for a good 15 minutes (it doesn't hurt to greet someone and let them know they have been seen) after which the man serving walked away without a word and sent someone else to the now steadily rising queue simply to check us in for our appointments. Have booked elsewhere and will not be going back.
