I had a wonderful experience with them.Have to say Mr Gareth especially gave me excellent service. As I was flying back home he made sure I get my glasses in one day after requesting.Loved his dedication 😊

Very helpful staff went in with loose fitting sunglasses that they fixed and the also replace the nose pads on my glasses. Will be back when I need glasses.

A big thank you to Gareth for helping my 3 year old choose her first pair of glasses. You were great in advising which styles suited best and were very patient with my over-excited daughter, even when she couldn't remember your name so called you Karen!

Today I spend over £500 on two pair of glasses for me and husband on SPECSAVERS !!! Yes, 2 weeks ago I booked our appointments with an optician and yesterday someone called me saying they had to cancel due to short stuff. I asked if the attendant could help me settings up an appointment with another boots stores (I am from Cardiff and was willing to attend Bridgent store). She told a plain NO and that I had to go online and book a new appointment myself as she doesn't know the other stores availability. I stated that me and my husband took the day off in advance so we could attend the appointment, as they were the ones canceling, I asked again if she could call other stores as they would give her more priority. She said gain, NO and that I had to go online and book myself. It impressive the lack of customer service. I am boot client for years now, my first option on everything. I can definitely tell you that Boots lost my business today.

Should've gone to Specsavers.

The worst organisational and communication skills of any shop I have been to. Highly understaffed. Long waiting times.

First, I waited 2 weeks for a consultation for contact lenses. Then, another 2 weeks for a fitting as they apparently had no one there to show me how to do it the first time I went. They didn't even think to book 2 appointments in within a couple of days of each other so hence the long 2 week wait between my 1st and 2nd appointment.

Next, they said that they've ordered some additional trial lenses in for me to use until my 3rd appointment which again was another 2 weeks after my 2nd to checkup how the lenses were fitting, but haven't actually called me to say if they've been delivered or not.

Lastly, I received a call today saying that the person for my 3rd appointment has COVID and I now need to rearrange another appointment, no doubt it will be at least 2 weeks away again.

Overall, a terrible experience. Will be going to Specsavers. Nice enough people, just very poorly managed.

Very poor service from Queen St Branch Cardiff - sent my mother home without testing or correcting her near vision and when I eventually got through to someone on the phone (20 min) to ask them about this they simply weren't interested in resolving the issue or even checking her records. Needless to say have moved to a more professional optometrist.

My glasses broke yesterday so I needed my prescription to order an emergency pair of glasses online. So I called Boots yesterday which kept on ringing for 10 minutes before being cut off. I called another 3 times and kept on getting bounced around an automated service. Due to frustration I gave up. I finally got through today to the Queen St branch and was told that they aren't allowed to email a copy of my prescription and can only send it in the post or if I attend in person. They said only HR can email the prescription and that it would be quicker for it to be sent by post. And of course I can't attend in person because I can't drive without glasses. This is despite me giving them all my personal details to prove it was me. Despite the awful and unnecessary difficult customer service experience they assistant then pointed out that my eye test coincidentally runs out today and whether I'd like to book another one. Absolutely not. That's all I asked for was a copy of my prescription via email which no other Opticians i have used in the past have had a problem with. I will stick with Specsavers from now on. No endless automated service, no endless call waiting and they utilise a degree of common sense for the benefit of customers...oh and they're cheaper.
