I have chronic long term problems which have recently become acute and quite serious this surgery has stood by me and kept patient with me.
What it’s like to run a modern GP’s practice I don’t know but the stress must be intense. I know that the doctors regularly work really long hours into evenings and on Saturdays.
People who attack this practice might ameliorate this by looking at the stress they are under and the severe limitations on their time and resources and a heavily overwhelmed NHS.
This is free healthcare at the point of need perhaps we should all remember that.

I was “greeted” by a receptionist who is in severe need of training, who then informed me that the potential reason it did not get approved was because it was a cream and the doctor reviews this on a periodic basis and my review might be overdue.
When I asked why the Doctor didn’t contact me if this was the case, the receptionist said they expect the patient to follow up after they don’t get their prescription.
I can get over the rudeness, but the woeful lack of communication is what really is disappointing.
Any decent Doctor would contact the patient to inform them of the reason why they did not approve the prescription, and perhaps inform the patient to make an appointment for a review.
Instead, they said nothing and I was none the wiser, waiting and waiting for approval, all the while without my medication.
I have a skin condition which I have managed to keep under control with regular application of my medication. Without it, I am prone to flare ups which can get sore and unsightly, which causes pain and has a direct impact on my self confidence.
This could have been resolved quickly and very easily with communication; I would have arranged an appointment for a review, had my prescription approved on time, and would have not interrupted my course of medication.
Instead they leave their patients in the dark and I have had to go without my medication for a prolonged period of time.
Since the pandemic started the doctors have been in hiding using the receptionists as bouncers that won’t let anyone in. When you phone they keep you on hold for up to an hour and eventually when they do answer they’re rude and unprofessional and when you complain their answer is “you could always find another practice”
All appointments have to now be booked online so if your not in front of a computer then there’s no was to book as when you phone they tell you to use the website. I feel that doctors are the weak link in our nhs and have let the rest of the nhs down and all of their patients.
