Highly recommended company.
My partner and I bought a fire place from The Fire Station and we were so happy with the service. They were so friendly and spent a lot of time with us making sure we got the best for our space.
We always like to choose independent businesses over chains as we have found the service is always very personal and the best.

We visited the Fire Station to look for a feature fireplace to fill a bland wall of a new build house. We were confronted with a vast selection of fire surrounds, and chose a simple contemporary design which matched our room well. Staff were helpful (and patient!) in assisting us choose the marble for the hearth, and also the fire itself.

The fitter arrived punctually on time, was polite and respectful during the time in our house, and tidied up afterwards.

All in all a pleasure to do business with, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again should the need ever arise.

Disappointingly, very bad customer service. Simply put the owner was insulting and in his own words he didn't care. This was after Nick, the owner, made an incorrect assumption and interrupted a conversation that I was having with a staff member. Rather than having some humility and decency he returned to his office embarrassed, without so much as an apology leaving his own staff member to pick up the pieces. Since my visit I have learnt that I am not the only person that shares this opinion of the owner and his company. On a positive note I have received a much more friendly and better service from MDW in Birstall.

I recently got a scene 490 multifuel stove from here. I had my heart set on a tricky slate hearth and they came up trumps: it looks fantastic. Ben (of Ben Scott Chimney Services - who did the lining and fitting) was great too. The draw on the stove is excellent, it's very easy to light and fits the chimney perfectly.

Can't fault these guys. Fantastic service from start to finish. Special thanks to Nick.

Have just had our gorgeous solid fuel fireplace fitted from Nick at the Fire Station. We love it. Mark the fitter did an amazing job as he did fitting our last one. Thanks again Nick 👍🏻 Excellent friendly and professional service as always.

Well, what can I say? We visited The First Station and found Nick very helpful and informative. We chose an electric fire, the electrician came to measure up and all was well - until: we received the deposit invoice and were happy to pay. However, there was a condtion on it that the balance should be paid in full "a minimum of two days before installation". This didn't seem good practice to us: paying for goods, the fire, before it had arrived and was satisfactorily installed. So I rang up to pay the deposit and said I was unhappy about paying the balance before we had the fire. "In that case you don't get the fire" said Nick. "Well, said I, " you won't get the business". "Thank you", said Nick, and put the phone down.
I thought that was rather rude, apart from not being good business practice. So that's my experience, as of October 2021. Make of it what you will.
