Aquaflames - Fire, Fireplace & Stove Specialist

We originally had the quote and booked in March and the fire was fitted in May. First disappointment was that the rubble was not removed. This was mentioned during the quote but when you're parting with £4.5k then you don't really want to have to put a load of wet bricks in the back of your car. Then the hearth problems began. The hearth we had selected turned up with machine marks from the cutting process on it. The company spotted this themselves and offered to swap it out which we accepted. When the new hearth was fitted the bonding underneath it seeped through and stained the top, also they forgot to put putty along the back of it so debris (potentially embers) could fall underneath the hearth. After a visit to clean the hearth was unsuccessful the company replaced it ... with the original hearth which the bonding then also seeped through and stained. This hearth was also not properly supported underneath meaning that if anyone had stood on the corner of it, it would have snapped. Cue another visit to clean the stains and fill underneath which seems to have worked...but. The filling underneath doesn't go all the way across so I can see a green plastic spacer glued in underneath, right in the middle, and to add to it all there is a step between the hearth and the stone behind it, but only on one side meaning one of the 2 pieces of stone isn't level. I was offered £100 off to accept the first hearth but didn't take it and them offered no further money off, which considering I now have the first hearth back again is a bit of a joke. Showroom people were nice enough when we originally went and they were resposive to the problems so I guess it scrapes 2 stars.

Another lady wrote the exact review to my experience this morning. Quote"Rude showroom staff couldn't be less interested, totally unapproachable". Guess they made a judgement as in work ware. Will be ordering 2x wood burners in future, but not from them. Will take other ladies advice. and go elsewhere. Surprised in this economy they can afford to Upset prospective customers. Also looks like they do a poor job by the reviews already posted. Dodged a bullet!

They were quick enough to take my deposit but nobody even contacted me after almost 4 weeks so luckily I found a different company & got a refund for my deposit.

Update; AF responded quickly to my review, explaining that the fitter had tried to contact me, surely, if he couldn’t get me on my phone, which I find interesting as it’s with me 24/7 due to my job, they didn’t think to email me which is on the quote request form which I completed.

Very rude staff who completely blanked our presence within the showroom! OK we are farmers so we wasn't dressed maybe like city dwellers but even so our money is by far as good as the next person! One of the guys certainly didn't want to help as he was extremely busy on the phone whilst the other did walk by and say hi, he then did a beeline too the customers looking to make a large purchase of which he was then intrested in, we was about to give them a grand for one of the cheaper stoves! Towards the end a young guy did actually speak and cast a little light on the stoves but we did feel like we was obviously not the kind of person too afford a log burner!!!!!! Extremely poor service and would not recommend. We went to Ampthill fires.

From start to finish what a great company to deal with.
Never bought a log burner before but got all the advise needed for the size we needed, picking the right one to the guys coming and fitting.
If your thinking of replacing yours, this place is well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Just had Jamie and the team come in and fit a new log burner. Wanted to let everyone know that during the two days fitting, Jamie and his colleague were polite, respectful of the property, clean, helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for a 'pain free' fitting and demonstration. Looking forward to cozy nights in front of the stove.

Great experience. From choosing our perfect fire to our living room. Richard and his team have been very supportive during the whole process and stepped in quickly to sort few things out. We had quote and project next working day and proceed straight after. Richard was very helpful giving advises and listening to our “ideas” to then put on paper. I am glad we have managed to find them and I would strongly recommend aquaflames Daventry if you are looking for the perfect fireplace at your home.
