Bill’s Fish & Chips

Faultless; lightly battered haddock full of fresh meaty flavour, first-rate chips, friendly staff and quick service. Portion sizes are amazing, food always fresh and tasty We go here fairly regularly and have recommended it to others too. A very clean shop, 5 stars rated in food and hygiene.  My partner reckons one of the best fish and chips she had so far.

disappointed today that the fish cooked to order was handled with bare hands. He also took money off a customer, and then returned to the fryer without washing hands. Bit worrying, might not bother again. Several in the shop, not large enough for more than three to wait safely

Went in for the first time as I happened to be in the area and it was the first chippy I spotted. The man serving was miserable. I ordered two small portions of chips with cheese. I asked for sauce on them but got no response back on that. I was served straight the way as there was no one else in the shop but I could see that the chips were pre cooked as he put them straight into the paper. He took them away into the back (presumably to put cheese on) and then came back out to take my payment. He charged £8 which I was gobsmacked at as I’d only ordered two small chips. Anyway, I paid and went back to car. I opened up the chips and they were cold, dry and NO SAUCE!!!!! I won’t be going back ever again. I was overcharged as well as being served cold food. Also take a class in customer service as a smile won’t kill you!

Although a bit of a wait, the food was fresh and very tasty indeed. I would highly recommend this friendly take away.

Fats always seem to not taste so good and tables inside are usually dirty... Shame because the owner and guys here are really lovely..

Always top quality fish, freshly made, generous portions of well cooked chips.

Food okay but very long wait. We called in on spec, they took our money upon ordering but then, while I waited outside, served three others who arrived after us, who had presumably ordered over the phone. They only take cash so these people had not paid before we had. The assistant serving me disappeared for ages and I could see her making tea in the kitchen, the man in the shop made no attempt to get our food ready, when he finally called me in he only then proceeded to assemble our order. I assume they take our money to make sure we don't leave before being served, quite frankly we would have done! Avoid if you want to actually get fed at in reasonable timescale. We used to be regulars at this shop before lockdown, this was our first takeaway since last March due to isolating, not a happy experience.

Always really good food and plentiful
