Great fish and chips, came in late on Thursday night & only wanted a portion of chips just as they were clearing up a lot of places would have said they were closed but the man was kind and friendly and cooked me a fresh portion of chips. They were great. I then came back tonight on Saturday and had chips and batter sausage and my partner had a large cod. Everything was cooked to order fresh and the size of the cod was enormous. Great value for money and lovely fresh food. The lady was nice and friendly. Thank you Golden Palace.

I ordered 2 small cods, 2 small chips, a jumbo sausage and mushy peas. Came to just under £20 and were big portions. Very good quality. The man behind the counter asked me if I wouldnt mind waiting 5 minutes so they could fry me 2 fresh cods and gave the kids fortune cookies while we waited. They currently only accept cash. Me and the kids couldn't eat it all. Highly recommended!!!

Clueless Chinese owners serving totally dire oily codlike fish and a measly mush of potatoes I believe were meant to be my large portion of chips. The worst £12 I ever spent. This place is rough, overpriced and needs to close down fast.

Took 2 large cods and chips. Cod was big but thin, not thick like in some fish and chips shops could be (Surbiton next to the station) and it was a lot of butter which was darker than usual and seemed like it was too long in the oil. Chips were ok but one or two seemed raw. Overall for a 20£ not bad but just on the edge of acceptance despite that you can much get better quality for same price elswhere.

Great quality fish and chips... Two cod, one haddock, two large chips and one mushy peas for about £30. Seemed like good value! The mushy peas were specially bought for my nephew as a parting gift before he flew home to the US. And he liked them!

Large plaice, but full of fat and mush. The chips were soggy. What kind of oil do you use? It tasted awful. £10.20 wasted. I will never return.

The best fish and chip shop in the local area by a long way in my opinion. Very friendly owner. Food is always fresh and tasty. Big menu to choose from too.

Joke of a chippy, chips tasted like stale potatoes, they were uncooked and soggy. Pretty expensive. Saveloy was orrid but then again they are saveloys. Gherkin was basically rotten. Bossman was a clueless cretin. Had to go get get cash and when we got back still took like 10 mins to be ready.
