King Fish - Traditional Fish & Chips

Unfortunately not a good fish and chips meal which we had 2 weeks ago from this establishment. Portion sizes i would say was not bad but the foods was not executed well. Everything was saturated in oil meaning that the food was fried at a not hot enough oil temperature. Chips were crispy but incredibly dry on the inside. I like mine to be crispy on outside but lovely light and fluffy on the inside. The fish was a good size but as mentioned before...very oily! The battered sausage was oily...and chewy! ... not a great meal compared to where we usually go either Danny's or Captain's table. .. sadly not sure i would return. On the plus side, the staff serving were very friendly.

Food VERY salty, especially the curry sauce and the cod. If u like taste of salt and not much else, this is the place for you.
Fish a bit overpriced for the quality you get.

Probably the best walk in fish and chips in the area. The fish is freshly cooked, the chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy as you like on the inside.
Prices are reasonable. I was initially regretful for not paying the extra £1 to get the large cod (as of Dec 2022 it's £7 for a small cod and £8 for a large) but was happy to find that a small chips and small cod are more than enough to feed an average appetite. My picture was taken after I had already eaten a quarter of the chips, and I had to save half of all the food for the next day.

Absolutely fantastic fish n chips. Recommended by a neighbour and we were certainly not disappointed we have been back 5 times and every time it’s beautifully fresh fish cooked to perfection the batter is light and the chips the best I’ve had! The owner takes pride in his cooking and is a lovely man, what more can I say except try it for yourself!

Loved this chip shop and the food tasted great.

Freshly cooked chips and sausage were purchased. Nice crispy chips and really friendly staff had a good chat while food cooked and reasonable on the price. Will return when passing.
